My husband and I are planning to take the RCCL Legend of the Seas 10 day
Panama Canal cruise in Nov. '96.

Has anyone been on this ship and on this particular route? I would appreciate
any comments you can give me.

Also, is it worth it to get the private veranda?

Please send your e-mail comments to era...@cclink.fhcrc.org

Thanks,

Edna Ramos

Hi Peter,
You are 100% correct. The veranda staterooms are one of the first
categories to sell out. Thank goodness the newer ships are comming
out with more veranda cabins than they previously had.
Best regards,

I have been on the Legend to Alaska. It's a bit too big for my tastes,
but it IS worth it to get a private veranda. Particularly if yo are
going thru the canal!!

Yes, I've toured Legend when she was in port in LA.

A beauty, done in pastels. Very comfortable. But the
most impressive was the 2 story ceiling to floor
windows in the dining room. Exceptionally light and
airy. I can see lingering over coffee and watching
the world go by.

As for verandas, yes - just make sure where on the
ship you are. We had a verandah on our Alaska cruise
and enjoyed it (Royal Princess years ago). However,
we liked being on deck or in the lounges to see the
scenery. It is a matter of personal perference....
the bliss of being alone on the verandah or the fun
of people and scenery watching above. We don't spend
too much time in the cabin - too much action going
on elsewhere. The Legend has many quiet areas also
so you can get the best of both worlds. It all depends
on what YOU like.

Smooth sailing. The Legend was built for the PC and
Alaska, so you can't go wrong.
