Anybody know where on Seven Mile Beach there is good access to the beach with
lounge chairs and restroom facilities available (for a nominal fee not a rip-off)?

I read Howard Garland's post that the Westin seems amenable to non-guests. Any
other places to go or personal experiences?

was there a month ago and we went to the Holiday Inn. The chairs were $10
each and you got one soda or bottle of water. Taxi was $4pp each way.
The beach was nice and the water gorgeous. They have a little shop there
that rents snorkle and dive stuff, and restrooms.

Take a cab to the Westin Hotel. Beautiful beach, free chairs and
facilities. Do NOT let the taxi take you to the "Beach Club."

Or you can walk 50 feet back towards town from the Holiday Inn and enjoy
that beach for free. No chairs, sure, but there are little huts with
benches and tables if you want to get out of the sun, a changing/bathroom,
and a water fountain.

Certainly not plush, but FREE, with plenty of cabs to bring you back to
town.

I also highly recommend the Cemetery- just superb snorkling.

we just got back from a week in GC.
as far as snorkeling, the best places we went to were Cemetery Reef and
Smith's Cove....

we liked Smith's the best. There is great snorkeling just out from the
shore. The beach, however, is not very big, in fact, the beach area is quite
small...it is a cove, is public, and there are picnic tables. It is south of
Georgetown, actually closer than Cemetery Reef.

Cemetary is on the northernmost part of 7 mile, has a great beach, and the
best snorkeling is 50 yards or more from shore.

Eden Roc is decent snorkeling, right close to the pier downtown, and no cost
to use. You can rent gear there too.

Another place close to town is the ship Cali. You can access it from the
Rackman's Pub/Restaurant. It's open to the public. You just walk out on the
outdoor deck, over to the ladder, and climb in. Sounds kind of akward if you
haven't done it before, but every one does.

In regards to the beaches, there are several public access places and the
ships also have shore excursions where they will take you to a beach for a
fee that has chairs. Our condo was right next to the Beach Club, where many
folks go. There are waverunner and snorkel gear rentals there. The beach is
nice. Some good snorkeling 20 yards or more from shore.

The Beach Club is about as far south on 7 mile beach that you want to go.

Feel free to email me with questions.
