Maybe one of you can help! We want to plan a 2003 Caribbean family cruise.
Where is the summer schedule? When will it come out? It's less than a year
away...what are they waiting for? We want a really good deal. Thanks.

Princess will have 0 --that's zero ships in the caribbean for the summer of
2003 so you can stop waiting. If you need help in finding a replacement for
your Princess Plans, please feel free to give me a call. I'd be happy to help
you.

Hi,

Princess will not be in the Caribbean in 2003.

Hi Everyone,

The poster had asked about the summer. As a clarification, Princess
will not be in the Caribbean during the summer of 2003.

Ray:
Since you seem to have info on Princess, do you know if they will have any
Mexican Riviera Cruises in Summer (June/July) 2003 ?

Thanks

Hi Ira,

Princess does not have ships doing the Mexican Riviera during the
summer. Any more questions, just ask!

I had to make changes to my plans do to Princess's decision. Now sailing
summer of 2003 on the Voyager of the Seas. Anyone know why Princess decided
what they did?

Hi Ron,

The cruise lines want to maximize their investment. The destinations
that Princess will sail command higher per diems than the summer
Caribbean.

That is true... but I think that having no presence in the largest cruise
market in the world is a big mistake. I also think we are going from having
few European cruises this year to a glut next year and the prices might
reflect the larger supply.... while the companies with ships in the
Caribbean might see slightly higher fares. Of course, my crystal ball is
notoriously cloudy...

That's only until they have to fill the Alaska sailings with the $499
specials.

Hi George,

My crystal ball says the same thing that yours does especially if
there is any blip in the political situation overseas. BTW, Micky
Arison thinks the rush to put so many cabins in Europe next summer
ludicrous. I absolutely agree.

But Princess has a huge UK following, and they may feel more comfortable in
other parts of the world then so close to the states. I'm guessing they
have run the numbers any way they could, and don't feel they can continue to
operate in that part of the world for seventy nine cents per day or whatever
the cruises there are going for.

I also believe whoever they merge with will add some ships there to fill the
void.

But Princess doesn't seem to have much of a WINTER Caribbean Presence
next year either.

Grand, Golden, Sun and Dawn. That's it, other than the Panama Canal
ships. They used to always have 2 Southern ships. Now one... and it
leaves on Sunday. Maybe the super megas AdventureOTS and Destiny have
take too many of their Southern passengers.

But that's not a big Caribbean presence.

Tom,

I agree! While I feel there may be a slight oversubscription in European
berths, I *really* feel Princess has gone too far on their Alaska sailings.
Dawn, Sun, Star, Diamond and Coral? And isn't the Island going to be there at
some point in the season, too? If you ever want to go to Alaska, next year
should be it... and even more so for last minute bargains. Yipes!

As of now unless circumstances change, Princess will not have any ships in the
Carribean for the summer months. Their ships will either be in Alaska or
Europe.
