Port Manatee is at the southwest corner of Tampa Bay, have Regal send you
directions, or if you're a Florida resident in the right places, take their
bus to the ship. When would you be planning to go? Which itinerary? I
can't pick your cruise, since I don't know what you like. I'd be glad to
field any questions.

Mr. Ed and I and several others are very fond of Regal Empress, the one
ship of Regal cruises.
I have sailerd on this ship many times and she is one of my very most
favourites. She has plenty of open deck space, a nice promenade deck
with chairs. The pool bar is one of a kind. It is woos and brass and has
a 180 degree view of the water over the fantail and pool. Food is very
goosd. Showers, however are small abnd one tends to get intimate with
the shower curtain.
This ship will provide a wonderfull product but be aware she is of a
different ilk than the new and glitzy ships.
If you go on her you will find a large percentage of the passengers are
repeaters.
HAPPY RAILS TO YOU
CRICK
We really liked the ship and the crew. The dining room was very nice. (Much
better than the ugly ones on the SS Rembrandt) The food was great too.
The only problem with the Regal Empress is that it is SLOW. We arrived late
to Cozumel and our time at port was reduced. Then we were VERY late. All we
were able to do was get of the ship, get on the bus to the Stingray city,
then take the boat to Stingray city. Stayed out on the sandbar for 30
minutes, then back to the bus and back to the ship. That was IT! We did not
get to do anything else because they were so late.
However, if they had a itinerary that we liked, we would go again no
problem. Speaking of which, we were also very disappointed and upset at the
orientation as we left Port Manatee. Why you ask? We felt that we were on
the wrong ship or had been kidnapped. We paid for a cruise to Jamaica, Grand
Cayman, and Key West. Instead as we left port we were told we would be in
Key West in the morning. What? That was our last stop, not the first. Then
they said Cozumel was the next port. CozWhere?
Turned out they cancelled the Jamaica port stop. Which was the one we were
most looking forward to. Actually, we had seriously considered getting
married on the first day of the cruise IN Jamaica. We would have been
extremely upset if we had not changed our plans and been married the day
before the cruise.
Speaking of getting married. I also contacted Regal about getting married by
the Captain while at sea. They would not do it. However, since then
according to their web page they now do weddings. Knuckleheads! Why couldn't
they have started that sooner! : - )
