I strongly recommend against the Beach Club; it's incredibly crowded.
Ask a taxi driver to take you to one of the hotels on 7 Mile Beach.

Take a cab to the Westin hotel on 7-mile beach. The beach is absolutely
lovely there. Just walk through the lobby onto the beach. Chairs are
available and there are shady spots under trees. We've been there many
times and nobody asks if you are a registered guest. Do not, I repeat DO
NOT let a cab take you the the Beach Club. It is crowded, there is an
admission charge, and it sucks.

I recommend Cemetery Beach which is just down the road from the hotel everyone else goes to.  You can take a cab there for a few bucks.  Far less crowded, good snorkeling, free (unlike the hotel beaches) with bathrooms.

Not really a nice idea. How would you like it if you were staying at
one of these hotels and a boatload (literally) of people show up at your
hotel's beach, taking all the chairs, crowding the beach? It happened
to my husband and I on Grand Cayman a few years ago. We could always
tell when a ship dislodged it's clients - we couldn't find a chair. On
the days that ships weren't in port, the beach was totally uncrowded.

Go to one of the public beaches, don't freeload. If you feel the need
to go to a hotel's beach, please take your own towels and sit on one of
them instead of taking a chair that is supposed to be for hotel guests.
Yes, the beach in front of a hotel may be "public", but the facilities
offered are not for poaching by non-paying public.

It is not freeloading since the Hotels charge at least $10 to allow you
to use their beaches. Complain to the hotel not to the cruiseline as
this is an arrangement that the hotel has made for extra revenue.

If looking for no services except a bathroom and no crowds, consider Smith's
Cove. About 1 mile south of the tender. Take a cab there but be prepared to
walk back. Excellent snorkling and a local spot, I too also like the Cementery
and Eden Rock but this is totally unspoiled.

Like another poster said - ..."go to the Westin...walk
through the lobby...they don't charge..." Sounds like
freeloading to me. If you want to spend time at a
hotel beach, pay to stay at the hotel. If you're on
a cruise, go somewhere else. To do otherwise is just
not polite. Why should we have to complain to the
hotel for the bad manners of others?

Get a life....it is not bad manners to go on a tour that the cruiseline
set up with the hotel..we pay the same as you do. maybe you need ot
find a new hotel if yours opens up their beach to the cruiselines for a
price, but knock off the holier than thou crap. I still believe all
beaches should be free access.

Please be advised that I will be invading the beach at the Westin with
group of fellow barbarians in about one month. Hold on to you beach chairs.

The hotel does not own the beach. If you can get to it you can use it.

Take a taxi or van to the Holiday Inn on 7 Mile Beach.  Walk 30 yards North from the PAY station at the Holiday Inn to the free public beach with bathrooms, changing rooms, water fountain, and covered seating/eating areas.  The sand and the water are the same as everywhere else, except it's free.

Read the posts. They are NOT talking about going with
a tour that the cruiseline set up. They are talking
about getting a cab and going to a beach themselves.
That's freeloading.
Now, the beaches are public, but the facilities are
private. That's why I said take your own towels and
sit on them instead of taking a hotel chair.
Get a life, yourself.

Kitty:

Hotels that don't want "freeloaders" charge folks to use their chairs, etc.
If your hotel doesn't do that, perhaps YOU should go to a different hotel
that has policies that please you?

NO what you said was stay off of your beaches.

Precisely you said is, "If you're on

a cruise, go somewhere else. To do otherwise is just not polite."

You are the rude and impolite person. Sorry, just calling it like I see
it!

For those of you who think "freeloaders" should pick a free public beach
as opposed to "your beach" and using "your beach chairs" let me ask you
this. Why would you stay at a hotel who would allow people to walk off
the street and rome freely about the hotel property and not be
questioned about their business there? Where is the hotel security who
should be protecting your interest? Does this sound like a Hotel who
has YOUR interest in mind? Or does this sound like "your hotel" has the
all mighty dollars interest in mind? "Your Hotel" will never turn
these "freeloading" people away because they know the pool bar/rest.
will make revenue off these "freeloaders". That is why I always stay at
hotels where you have to show a room key (to a hotel security employee),
badge or some other Hotel issued ID to access the pool deck area. So
"freeloaders" are kept out and only paying guests have use of all
facilities. So next time you book a hotel ask if the property is for
Hotel Guests Only and do they enforce it or is it open to the public?
Only then do you have the right to complain about people using "your
chairs".

Thank you for the one responsible suggestion.

I just can't understand the mindset of the rest of
the responders who think it's just fine to think only
of themselves when going to a hotel and using it's
facilities when not a paying customer (either staying
there or as part of a cruise deal). If you feel so
disposed to do that, at least spend some money at the
place.

Mais oui, Madam. On my last visit to the Westin I purchased two drinks
which set me back $24. I also bring my own towels; but I do not and
WILL NOT sit on the sand, just to avoid offending you.

Kitty,

I wonder if your bosses over at Cisco, know how much of their time you
waste on the internet. I'd watch myself when challenging others and
name calling. Me thinks it is best to live and let live
