Spencer, the reason they are offering a deal is because this is a very
rocky time of year for the Atlantic. But you will never forget the trip
if you go. You will regale anyone who will listen about how you
participated as the great QE2 fought nature's storm-tossed sea and gave
you a great ride. There is nothing like it.
On the other hand, in the height of summer on the North Atlantic, seas
can be rough too, although there's no guarantee.

I crossed on the QE2 in December, 1985 and it was *very* rough--the ship
had to make a 300 mile detour to avoid the remnants of a December
hurricane and I arrived 1 day late into New York ( 70 foot seas even with
making the detour). But--you're right--there *is* a considerable discount
for crossing so late!
I assure you, if you do make that trip in December, you will need to see
the ship's doctor for "the shot"--works like a charm, lasts the whole
trip, you * will not* get seasick.
Have not been on the QE2 since, would certainly like to cross in
conjunction with a European cruise next time.
