HAL Rotterdam Med. 10 day cruise for two !
Air $5164 Philly to Venice , RT on Air France ? Must be a mistake !
$2800 for out side cabin with Fully obstructed view , Hope we at least
get an upgrade on that !

That's $7964. (so far) plus eight shore excursions & then there is the
EURO ++++ I am spoiled by years of Carib. Cruises. My wife has been
hounding me for this for many years ! Oh well i might even like Europe !

Well probably not! Last year (June), we cruised from Amsterdam to New
York. The prices for the one-way connection (New York to Amsterdam)
ranged from about $4000 per ticket to a low of $900 each.

Fortunately we were able to use the $900 choice.

But the experience of seeing such a wide range of prices was shocking -
particularly since our last overseas flight (LA-Venice) round trip was
$1100 each in 2001.

I was able to get RT air from Newark to Rome for $687 pp. I think you
need to keep checking. If the fares are that high from Philly (I am
from south Jersey, and Philly would be more convenient), try Newark.
This was for September 05.

That high fare was HAL air sea with one night hotel in Venice @$420 &
transfers! Found Much cheaper fares on line , like $853 pp rt
Philly to Venice ,BUT they don't arrive till just before the ship leaves
!

You must be flying first class...right? A quick check tonite for PHL-VCE
comes up at $1,133.48 coach fare on Lufthansa....checked for mid-July fare.
