Wondering if I can get some information regarding Costa Cruise Lines. We've
always gone on Celebrity or Princess, but have a chance to go on a Costa
cruise. Since we're not familiar with that cruise line, would love to hear
from someone who can clue us in on what it's like and what to expect..

Thanks.
Helen

If you want to meet people from all over, and don't feel threatned by
hearing foreign languages then Costa is for you.

If you just want to meet your neighbors you can continue with the
cruises that you have already experienced, or stay in your neighborhood.

Costa will not annoy you with the same jokes as all other cruises and
the Roman night is the most unique and entertaining night of any cruise

On the other hand, if you want to avoid cigarette smoke, it would not
be a good choice. Says Cruise Critic:

Where You Can Smoke: Smoking is permitted on the open decks, in
cabins, including balconies, and in designated smoking areas in most
public rooms.

Where You Can't: All restaurants and show lounges are non-smoking.

Compare that policy to Oceania:

Where You Can Smoke: Smoking is permitted only in the aft port side of
Horizons, and the starboard forward section of the outdoor Pool Deck.

Where You Can't: All other areas are smoke-free. This includes all
cabins and balconies, restaurants, public rooms and open decks except
for the two designated smoking areas.

Thanks for that information. The smoking thing is a deal breaker. Can't
stand any smoke. Seems like it would be hard to get away from it, and no
fun if I had to avoid areas because of it.

Hugs,
Helen

In addition, as I have posted previously, the food on the Costa
Atlantica was the worst in all my numerous cruises and other distasteful
things on board certainly would keep me from ever sailing with them
again. rosaly

Thanks for the information. I've already made up my mind about not taking
the cruise line. Many others that I've cruised with before are more
tempting.

Hugs,
Helen
