Whish area would/should I be looking at to stay in Tampa for a
pre-cruise overnight? There's so many and unlike for FLL I don't know
which area to look for a hotel in. Thanks.

*Busch Gardens ·St. Petersburg*
Beaches Hotels located near the Busch Gardens Theme Park.

*St. Petersburg*
and its barrier islands on the Gulf Coast offer numerous lodging
options. *

*Downtown Tampa Airport Hotels*
in the downtown area, just east of the Airport, many with views of the
Bay. Hotels in the vicinity of the Tampa International Airport (TPA).

*Tampa ·Greater Tampa Bay*
Hotels in Tampa and areas north and east of Tampa Bay. Hotels in
various areas around Tampa Bay.

*Clearwater ·Clearwater Beach*
Hotels in Clearwater, just to the west of Tampa proper. Located on a
barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico, Clearwater Beach is a popular
tourist destination.

David,
I live in Tampa so I hope this might help you.
If you want to get to the ship quickly the downtown area is for you.
Downtown hotels are VERY close to the pier.
I would avoid anything St. Pete or Clearwater area as they are across the
bay. You would have a fairly long drive over the bridge to get back to
Tampa.

Here are a couple of suggestions:

Hyatt Regency Downtown
Wyndham Harbor Island
Marriott Waterside.

These are the 3 closest to the piers.

I stayed at the Wyndham Westshore. Nice hotel. But a $17.00 cab ride to
Terminal 6 for Celebrity. Not sure about the rate to Terminal 2.

Got an email the other day from the Double Tree Tampa Westshore.
$89 Park and Cruise deal, includes pier shuttle. (and obvously they have
shuttle to/from airport)

Have never actually stayed there, but Double Trees tend to be decent.

Regards, Keith
