I can tell you that CCL has their own Tux Rental for men AND women. Pretty
jazzy too!
I have my own Tux so I don't have any personal experience.

Many cruise lines have their own rental. There is also an outfit
called cruiselineformal.com that rents. (I'm a little unclear as to
whether there is overlap between these two groups, that is, that
cruiselineformal may be the on ship rental in some cases.)
Your local tux shop CAN rent you a tux, probably for the time you need,
and will be about $5-$15 cheaper than the on ship tuxes. They have
cruise packages, and can include multiple shirts, jackets, if you
like. but you will have to pack it and get it there and make sure it
is not wrinkled and such. The tux shop at home probably has a variety
of styles the cruise ship ones don't (generally on-ship tux shops have
standard black jackets and white dinner jackets. Your local tux shop
can rent you a double breasted jacket, shortie jacket, variety of
collars, etc. some of these will cost more)
The big advantage of cruise line rentals or cruiselineformals.com, of
course, is that the tux is in your cabin. You don't have to do
ANYTHING. People who use these services seem to be very satisfied.
That, in a nutshell is What I found out. I'm going to rent one to be on
the ship, as this is a surprise for my husband and I don't want him to
guess anything.
Thanks
Julie

Before you buy.
Sorry we didn't do it on all cruises,

What is wrong with wearing a business suit?
That would save $100 or so on a rental.
You could use the money for tipping.

Hi Elliot,
Absolutely nothing. A dark business suit is perfectly acceptable.
With or without cowboy boots. <vbg>
