How does tendering work? How is the order decided? if you sign up for an
excursion, do they take it into consideration? Does everyone get equal
time on the islands?

People with early shore excursions go first. These folks don't need to wait
for a tender ticket. If you haven't booked a shore excursion, then you can
wait till things thin out or get a tender ticket and wait your turn (after
all the shore excursion people are gone). It's inconvenient (especially if
you don't have an excursion booked), but RCCL moves things reasonably fast.
If you attend any of the port talks, they'll spell everything out for you.

Everyone doesn't get equal time on the islands. You have to be back on the
ship at least 30 minutes before it's due to leave regardless of when you
leave the ship.

Sherry,

Yes, if you are on a scheduled shore excursion, they will see you are off
the ship in time to make your connection. Other that than you usually pick
up a numbered tender ticket and go ashore when you group's number is called.
The earlier you pick up your ticket, the earlier you get off this ship.
Once the crush is over, it become open tendering and you can go as you
please.

Equal time on the islands, now there is a concept!

It has been my experience that all ships do a great job of tendering. They have
it worked out to almost a science. In the Caribbean with the heat, your time
ashore will be more than equal to your stamina in most cases.
