warning re: ecruises.com

My sister was married on a Royal Caribbean cruise (W. Caribbean) in March
2000. The cruise was magnificent, and I am planning another one for this
year!
However, we made the mistake of booking the cruise and airfare through
eCruises.com (also known as Cruise and Travel Superstore). We booked a year
in advance, but when we arrived at the airport, we discovered that the TA
had not paid for our airfare! We had to pay the "last minute" rates and
were promised reimbursement. When we got back, we sent in the info to get
reimbursed and was told that they had changed their minds! They are
currently under investigation by the CT Atty General. The verbal abuse
(literally swearing at me) and incompetence has convinced me that this
agency doesn't deserve my business our yours. Just don't want anyone else
to go through what we did.

(Royal Caribbean was wonderful and was in no way at fault. Next time I plan
to book the airfare through RC)

Thanks for the warning. Just a thought but have you looked into doing
your own air? I have found it to be tremendously cheaper. I live near
Raleigh, NC and the air fare quoted by RCI was about $150 more than I
could get by just booking myself. If you go down the day before you
cruise you cut the chances of anything negatively impacting your
arrival.

I book my cruise air online through Expedia or travelocity. There are new
websites coming online that will search for the cheapest fare. I don't want
to use Priceline because I want to take nonstop flights if possible. I use a
reputable cruise agent for the cruise, my own air and third party insurance.
It works great.
