Pgh. Steeler Cruise?

Saw a reference about a Pittsburgh Steeler Fan cruise on another newsgroup.
Anyone know anything about this planned cruise??

Cute! I really do not know a thing about this "cruise" picked up a thread
on the Steelers newsgroup and am trying to find out what it is all about.
To combine my two (well maybe three) favorite things - cruising - the
Steelers - and you can guess at the third all at once may be more than I can
stand.

Since the Steelers are already in Training Camp and will the season
starting, I assume this cruise will be next Spring.

Just got my vouchers for frequent flyer tickets to Ft. Lauderdale for the
GGC, so now it is time to think about next spring.

Don't know for sure, but it might be more like the fantasy camps where
the old timers are the ones who show up on the cruise ship.

Come on, be honest, who would you really rather see on ship, the current
guys, or Bradshaw, Mean Jo, Yellow Shoes, Franco, Swan, Lambert, and the
rest of the Real Steelers?

I am sure you are right. And I'll go for the old guys. Speaking of Joe
Willie, I graduated with the guy he tromped in Superbowl III -- Johnny
Unitas. But I did get to go to SB V and see the Colts beat the Cowboys.
However, Johnny was knocked out very early in the game.

I don't know when this cruise is, but it would probably be next
Feb/Mar/Apr/May/Jun. This is usually how it works. You can contact the
Pittsburgh Steelers PR office and find out.
They will also tell you if it is the "old guys" or the current players.

It would be great to see the "old guys", but I hope that it is the current
players..... they will be needing a cruise after this season. Let's call it a
"Blues Cruise".... since this is what they will be singing when the
Jacksonville Jaguars de-thone them in our division. LOL!

If this is the Cruise-Fan-Atics cruise (Steelers game & cruise) I've
gone the last 2 years. If you love cruising and the Steelers, you've
GOT to go on this cruise. This year it will begin on December 12th I
think with a three night cruise on the Fantasy, then a Sunday game
against Tampa Bay. All cruise, ground transport and game items are
provided in the package.

All during the cruise there are special Steeler's parties (bring your
Terrible Towels). Being "remote" Steelers fans from South Dakota, it's
a great chance for us to meet some of the "real" fans from the 'burgh.
There have not been any retired player on the previous cruises, but I
understand this year they are working on something like that.

I have no affiliation with these guys, but I can tell you that my wife
and I felt it was well worth the money.

Thanks for the information. I am going to talk to the Steelers PR office
and see what they know.

It sounds great, but that date is running right against the Great Group
Cruise which we have already booked, so that will not work for this year.
The GGC by the way is a cruise of rec.travel.cruises members. To date we
have booked about 150 cabins on the Mercury for a December 6th sailing.

The cruise you talked about really sounds like fun. I am also a displaced
Steeler fan. Born and raised in Blitzburgh. Sould have gone to see them in
Phoenix last year when I had the chance!

Again, thanks for the info and perhaps we will meet on one of these Steeler
cruises in the future.

and I are fans of the REAL Steelers .........you know the ones I
mean.........the ones in Canton.........we had season tickets from the day they
opened Three Rivers.
