Star-Clippers web page is very comprehensive, modern clipper sailing
ships etc etc.(2), however cannot reach them by posted E Mail address
which is in...@Star-Clippers.com. Primarily what I'm interested in is
contacting anyone who has taken their cruises before I expend any
further effort to contact them. Thanks.

All the best from the sailer
Star Clippers has two “Tall” ships: the Star Clipper and the Star Flyer.
Both are modeled on the classic Clipper ships of bygone days. They muster
36,000 square feet of white billowing sails which provide for a majestic,
enchanting and romatic cruise. The ambience is intimate and tasteful.
Both ships have modern amenities set in a decor of nautical tradition.
I've been on Star Clippers twice. Once in the Caribbean and once in the
Med. Both times it turned out to be the Star Flyer. Out of the dozens of
cruises I’ve been on, I have to tell you that these were my favorite
cruises. Both times there were about 135-140 passengers. In the
Caribbean, we sailed out of St. Maarten and went to places like Virgin
Gorda and Antigua. The weather was great and the people were super. I'd
guess the average age to be mid to late 30's. We had two honeymoon couples
on board in the Caribbean. There is nothing quite so romantic as laying
out on the netting, at sunset, at the very front of the ship enjoying the
gentle motion of the ship and the warm embrace of a loved one. And you can
only do that on a ship like the Star Flyer.
All of the cruisers thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. We looked forward to
the "Crab Races" at the tropical bar and playing Trivial Pursuit with new
friends. We did a lot of swimming and sunbathing and tours and diving and
shopping together. The ship is very quiet since they use their sails as
often as possible. The rooms we had were not elegant but they were very
nice and fit in with the casual air of the cruise. Since the ship carries
so few passengers, we got to know several dozen of them quite well. There
were no suit/tie requirements for dinner. My wife and I both prefer a
casual, relaxing environment. The ports-of-call were great. My wife and
I especially enjoyed the baths on Virgin Gorda and our SCUBA dive on the
Rhone (sunken ship featured in the Movie the Deep) at Salt Island.
In the Med we left from Cannes and went to Corsica then the western coast
of Italy and back to Cannes. We saw interesting ports-of-call such as
Bonifacio and Calvi, Corsica. We enjoyed the elegance and quaintness of
Portofino and Portovenere, Italy. One day of the Med cruise it was pretty
windy. So instead of doing a beach day as planned, the crew SAILED the
ship. Racing along before the wind, sails taut and straining, the whistle
of the wind across the deck--incredibly powerful feelings and very
exciting.
If you like small ships, sailing, casual elegance, making new friends, and
wonderful ports-of-call, these are the ships that will excite you. I've
been on a dozen cruises, on many different sized ships over the years (I'm
51 years old) and these have always been my favorite ships.
