We'll be spending a couple of days in Venice precruise and would like
suggestions for a hotel. We'd like to be close to St. Marks Square
but it must have a water taxi dock because my SO always has a lot of
luggage and I've reached the age where I'm no longer able to handle it.

Hi Bob,

I always try to stay at the Luna Hotel Baglioni. You can't get any
closer to St. Marks and right at a Vaporetto dock. It is gorgeous and
the staff is the best. You should make your reservations early as it
often is sold out.

Best regards,
Ray

Don't overlook the centuries old Pensionnes. These are family run
Venetian Bed and Breakfasts. The family lives on premises. Food is
often lavish 6 and 7 course meals featuring home made pasta. Some of
these are centuries old. As an accommodation several have Vaperetto
docks outside the main entry.
