Hi,

We will be in St. Thomas in Feb and would like to tour St. John on our own
this time. How much is the taxi fare from the ship to Red Hook and from
Cruz Bay to tour St. John?

We have been to Trunk Bay before, any recommendation for other beach on this
island.

PS. We got the ferry cost from Red Hook to Cruz Bay is $3.00 (?).

We are in the same situation (although we have not been there before) and one
of my travel guides says there is also a bus, for only a couple of dollars,
from the dock to Red Hook? True? False?

Taxi to red hook $ 4 to $ 5 , Ferry $ 3 each way, Mini Bus to Cinnamon Bay $
3.50 each way. Cinnamon Bay is really nice. ( Go to the left at the water.
every one goes right. ) If you want an Island tour you can set it up at the
dock in St. Johns.
there are 30 or 40 taxis/ mini buses waiting.

Just came back from the Eastern Caribbean on the Triumph Dec8-15. We went to
St. John. Taxi to Red Hook was $8.00 per person, Ferry ride was $3.00/adult
$1.00/child. Taxi to Cinnamon Bay was $4.50/per person, I think, not real sure
about this one, but remember giving driver 20.00 for 4 people and included a
couple dollar tip.. All this was one way. Cinnamon Bay was a great beach and
has no admission fee.

Hi Juliana,

Under the US Virgin website www.usviguide.com/taxis/taxistj.htm. It
indicates there is a bus service (*Buses (VITran) leave from the ferry dock
at Cruz Bay every hour on the half hour to drive across the island to Salt
Pond. They return to Cruz Bay shortly after. Fare $l.00 each way).
