What a wonderful 13 day cruise for the four of us. We had cabins on the
Plaza deck, 3105 & across the hall 3107. Perfect location as we were
only a few steps from some of our favorite places. Everything on board
was perfect, such as service, food and entertainment. I wonder if they
knew that the big chiefs from the corporate offices would be on board
checking things from top to bottom. In any case it was great for us.
Only one complaint and it was shared by all who boarded that day. While
Miami has huge facilities they lack in personal to check people in. We
wee in line for nearly TWO HOURS. When anyone complained we were all
told (very sweetly) there were 3 ships in port and they were doing their
best to process us. I found this a very poor response but decided it
wouldn't ruin my experience.

The ship will be going for rehab (or whatever it is called) after the
1st of the year. While it was mostly in decent condition there were
some areas needing help. The word is the ship will look completely
different..

Michael's club with Perry Grant stayed packed each night. Zero smoking
inside the ship made it really nice for all us non-smokers. We only
occasionally smelled smoke when someone came back inside from having a
cigarette. The casino stayed busy and seemed to be paying out I never
heard any complaints. I was surprised to see the price on the Martini
Tasting went from 10.00 to 21.00. None for me this trip There were 3
formal nights but the ladies and most gents were quite dressed up on
"Smart Casual" nights.

I have little to say about the ports as this time we didn't get off
except to buy a couple of forgotten sundry items. But the weather was
wonderful for those who had tours. After over 20 cruises in the
Caribbean we are a bit jaded I suppose. We don't do water sports so
when folks leave the ship we take advantage of the lovely Persian
Gardens on board. Perhaps it was my imagination but there seemed to be
more bar servers coming around as well as a little more push for photos.
I was very pleased to see a waiter we had on 2 previous sailings with
Celebrity. We had a really fun time with the activities staff.
Especially a very talented and personal man, Carl Pucl. I predict a
great future for Carl if he stays with this career.

The perks for Captain Club Elite were mostly coupons. Some were very
good. We took advantage of the free laundry service , twice. of course
the casino and internet as well as the steam rooms in the spa.

Feel free to email me if I can answer any questions.

13 days and and you never got off?

That may explain it.

Did you not take advantage of the free drinks in the Captain Club lounge in
Michael's club?

With people gambling much less, and with the price of drinks so high, people
are drinking less. As a result they are looking for new areas of on board
revenue - and photos are very profitable. Hence the push for them. It's
not your imagination at all. But the good news is that photos are not
something they are going to force you to buy.

On the previous sailing weeks of Constellation which I was on the
casino was packed every evening. When I say packed I mean it was hard
to even walk through. Did not seem like people were gambling less.
Maybe it was because it was non smoking. I was surprised because the
casino on Crown Princess a few months ago was empty every evening.
Perhaps that was because the Crown Princess sailing had so many Brits.

It had to be Miami as we boarded in about 30-40 minutes at Cape Liberty, NJ.

I'm surprised to hear this as she was a good condition when we were on her
for our October NE/Canada cruise.
I hope they do not change her too much...;-( We have taken her twice and
like her the way she is!

Perry Grant draws a huge crowd...did he have his "groupies" there on your
sailing?
He is very talented and comical.
The casino was "TERRIBLE"...not many winners and often had just a few
die-hards there and I wasn't even one of them, it turned me off that much!

Wasn't there a free "Happy Hour" with canapes each evening from 4-6 pm? We
really enjoyed that for 12 days! Especially since we did not have to go to
the dining room until 8:30 pm. We took advantage of the two free dry
cleanings and were satisfied with the results. The internet was great with
the free180 minutes.

Dory, I'm glad that you enjoyed the Constellation...she is one of my
favorite ships.
Thanks for the interesting review. So when is your next cruise?
