We are bringing my mother with us on the Disney Cruise, and we need to
know if she needs a passport or birth certificate? Will her CA driver's
license suffice? We're doing the 4 day cruise, and she has neither of
those things, so i'm a bit concerned.

Hi,

At:

http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/disneycruiseline/faq/faqgroupingindex?id=RatesAndDatesFAQGrping#RatesDocumentationFAQ

>>> All U.S. and Canadian citizens must travel with proof of
citizenship, which is a valid passport, or certified birth certificate
with a picture identification, or a certified naturalization
certificate with a picture identification. <<<

We're going with my parents who forgot theirs. I made them have them
FedEx'ed so I wouldn't have to worry.

She needs a state issued birth certificate with a seal plus her driver's
license. You see you don't need to be a US citizen to get a US driver's
license, so you need either a passport or birth certificate for proof of
citizenship. You can get an expedited birth certificate. Just call the city
where she was born, ask for expedited service and pay with a credit card. If
you like cruising, I would strongly urge getting a passport. It's little,
takes you anywhere and it's good for ten years.

Anyone laving the USA needs proof of citizenship. Either embossed
birth certificate (no copies accepted) or a passport. A passport is
always the best!

A drivers license *and* birth certificate is the usual requirement for
adults. You need both. Passports are not required for places such as
The Bahamas.

I just got back from the 7 night cruise. We showed driver's license &
passport when we checked in and got our Key to the World cards. After
that, we were never asked for anything else as I.D.
