. Exactly how does that work. You give your credit card number to TA , and
they charge for insurance ( they showed up as the payee on the credit card
bill for insurance charges) but princess showed up for deposit and final
payments ( and the mystery $40 charge). Does the TA just give the crusie
line your Credit Card # ?

Hi Alberto,
The cruise line reserves the right to charge you extra port charges,
taxes and fee. This is usually in the fine print of the brochure and
in your contract that is supplied with your final docs. The cruise
line gets the credit card # from your TA upon deposit, final payment,
and in this case, on final final <g> payment. I believe that Princess
would not have made this charge without discussing the form of payment
with your TA. I can not say for sure, though. BTW, this last $10 per
person tax was what the cruise line charged for the new Homeland
Security Air Tax. It is $2.50 per segment with a $10 cap round trip.
Of course, if you fly less than 4 segments, I guess the cruise line
has found another revenue source. <;+(
Best regards,
Ray

><SNIP> Got the tickets fine around Jan. 20 ( cruise is 2/10/02). I
I just bought a cruise on Jan 10 from Expedia sailing Feb 22 and was
not charged a $10 'security charge' for any of us. Bought 'cruise
only' on Celebrity via Expedia and also purchased airfare separately
via Expedia. No separate $10 pp 'security charge' on either the
cruise or the air tickets.

I thought the air fee was not effective until March..
There is no new federal fee for cruises.

If port charges or taxes went up, the cruise line can charge them to
you even after you "pay in full", it's in the contract fine print,
perhaps this is what happened.
They certainly owe you a explanation either way.
