On tonight's Outdoor Channel Lonely Planet in a program about the
Caribbean, it mentioned a guest house--an old plantation house--run by a
Professor Hollis Lynch. I believe Lynch is an old friend of mine from
university days way back in the late 1950s, and would love to confirm it is
the same chap and find an address. My wife and I have been thinking of a
holiday in the Caribbean and that might be a great way to start! Anyone know
this place, chap or ideas on how to check it out?
Would be grateful.

Pulling out my copy of Lonely Planet's Eastern Caribbean I find:
Richmond Great House (Tel 660-4467), Belle Garden, is a small inn occupying
a restored plantation house at the edge of the rain forest. The inn has
simply furnished rooms with private baths for US$70/100 for singles/doubles
in summer, US$80/120 in winter, breakfast included. There's a pool and
hilltop views. The owner, Hollis Lynch, is an African history teacher at
New York's Columbia University and some of the common rooms are decorated
with African crafts.
Non-guests can come up to the house for breakfast (TT$50), lunch (TT$55) or
dinner (TT$110) -- all full-course meals. Reservations are required for
dinner. The inn is 150 meters north of the main road, 750 meters after
entering the village of Richmond; the turn-off is marked.

Seeing that Hollis is a professor I suspect that you won't see him at the
inn while classes are in session. Pulling out my Manhattan phone directory
I do find a Hollis R. Lynch listed.
