Now, laptops, that is a different issue entirely. I seriously
doubt if you will die if your laptop is checked. However, the
impact to business travelers - on productivity - could be huge.

Call your airline and ask what kind of documentation (doctor's letter,
prescription, etc) they will need before they will accept life-critical
medical devices. If they refuse to allow you to take hypodermics even with
documentation, find another airline or find a lawyer and consider a
lawsuit.

I'm not aware of any government regulation in North America which bans
laptops. If one airline won't allow laptop carry on, find another airline.

Actually, a travel agent, citing American policy. One problem is that in fact,
an anti-coag. or insulin kit could indeed kill someone or disable them....

British Airways has a section on their website that outlines such
restructions. They state that passengers need medical papers to prove their
need for the syringes and then they are allowed.
Who told you this, and why would you believe everything you've been told?
