to
hello.
I'd like to report a bad trade.
first to give some credibility to my report, my references.

I did some trades many years ago, and since then I've sold on eBay a few
times as well.
I have an eBay rating of 34 all positive unique feedback under the account
game_hunter (with an underscore between) . I'd say maybe a dozen of them are
from my own auctions.
I have a GameTradingZone account with 30 trade reports. (with 27 different
people)
my best friend is an eBay user with 100 all positive feedback and has sold a
fair bit on eBay.

now to the bad trader. on IRC's DALnet I know them as May-chan and her
shipping address is:
Sol Chu
7 Osgoode Place
Winnipeg, MB

now the bad stuff.
orginally it went well. I made a bad decision to accept some overpriced MOSC
BW toys she could get from a comic book shop. when I attempted to change my
mind after that, she got angry and said she would report me as a bad trader
and the deal was off. I appologized and said I'd go through with the trade
as agreed.
before this blowup and the purchase of the MOSC stuff, she got a Tigerhawk
and I repeatedly asked her if there was any chrome wear. she answered only
once saying "none that I can see".
well when I got it there was noticable chrome wear. I was not pleased after
making such bad decisions, but this wasn't about bad decisions.
when I contacted her, she again pressured me to make a desision on the spot
like she had done before, even though I'm slow. I had a day or two to think
about it, but I hadn't. I was advised to ask for up to $15 US, but I asked
for only $10. she said "is that all?" and agreed.
a week later she still hadn't sent it. by this time I was annoyed at myself
for taking the whole thing lying down and asked for $15 US. I haven't heard
from her since. she never sent me any compensation.
despite my apologizing and honouring my agreement, she seems to feel
justified in not honouring her side of the trade because she says I am a bad
trader. I already said I don't make decisions quickly, and this is another
reason, because I easily make mistakes. that's not a reason to label me a
bad trader. the only fault I made was in asking her to return the
merchandise after I told her to purchase it. I apologized and said I'd do
the trade as agreed.
I did email her after she had not sent payment, asking for $15 US (to make
up for the chrome wear AND the delay and what by then I considered not a
very fair trade overall) and an apology. she hasn't been on IRC for two
weeks. she hasn't replied to my email at all.

she did have references. she sold some really expensive stuff, and had a
decent amount of trades, some with people I knew. I can't understand how
someone who considers themself a good trader can ignore an obligation to an
agreement just because she doesn't like me.

and the details of the trade:
some money ($40 US equivilant), MOSC poison bite, MOSC TM Waspinator, and a
loose Tigerhawk complete with NO CHROME WEAR
I was to give her four Predaking items (head, fist, foot, and Razorclaw), a
Red Alert gun, and three small individual Monstructor guns. minor paint wear
on predaking head, stress mark on the back of the hand, some peeling on a
lower corner of Razorclaw's mane.
we agreed to a value of about $20 US for each predaking item, plus about $5
for red alert gun and $5 for the monstructor guns on my side... and she was
to purchase all three items for $23 Canadian after tax (about $15 US). it's
off by $5, but I agreed to lower the cash... I suppose for the minor wear on
the Predaking items.

yeah... I know... G1 stuff for BW? well I forgot that I'm not the type to
overpay for MOSC/MISB stuff. I also somehow forgot that she said she would
as easily send all cash as a combo, or all trade... although this was after
she said it would be easier to trade. cash would have made this easier since
she had the cash to pay for it all if it truely did cost her what she said
it did. (with the way she's acting, I can't be sure)
I also forgot I could get poisonbite locally for less than she could,
although more than I was willing to pay at the time. stupid me. two
different facts. couldn't remember them both.

I know Sol personally, and I doubt HE would do something to rip you off
intentionally. I also know that it is exam time at college and he probably
hasn't had time to screw around on the net. Anyway it sounds more like a
misunderstanding, and with enough of these postings of bad traders and then
retractions, I think people should slow down and wait a little more. As in
the case of Gambit333, he was on vacation. it is summer and people do go
away, and not always just to Botcon. At any rate I would give him a little
more time, because like I said he is a good guy and wouldn't do this
intentionally.

And yes that comic shop where he bought them was charging that much. They
are a rip off there, unless you get there when the right person is working
you get screwed.

I also know him from trades and speak to him over ICQ on a daily basis. I
can't imagine him doing this. I would trust him with anything. I'm not
sure what is going on, but I can tell you he wouldn't do this without good
cause. He doesn't rip people off. I've never known him to do anything like
that. He is a great guy and this must be a simple misunderstanding. As you
can imagine, I'll be talking to him about all this too. :)

I was talking to her (him?) last year about a sale or trade, but I had bad
feelings about May-Chan, so I never followed up on it. Good thing my instincts
were right. I think we were either talking about TF, BW, or Macross toys.

well I wouldn't recommend this person to anyone, although I would retract my
bad trader report if I eventually get my money.
it was just very unpleasant, and event though they asked for details on the
condition of the items they were receiving, they couldn't seem to give me
the same courtesey. I would think asking three times is sort of a clue that
the person would like you to check it more than a simple glance. it was
either carelessness or deception. either way...
and who is Sol Chu? is he a guy pretending to be a girl called May-chan, or
is May-chan like his sister or girlfriend/fiance/wife ?
I figured since SHE had put me on ignore on IRC and refused to talk to me
that she didn't have any intention of sending the money. I was polite up
until the delays on the money to make up for the chrome wear. this is just
getting rediculous. all I get is annoyances and delays and bad items and
rudeness. I've been as polite as possible, even when I started getting angry
with the delays.
I'm writing this bad trader report because I'm not really in the mood to
keep hunting this person down. they can get back to me when they get back
from vacation. in the mean time, bad trader report stands.
