I just got home with the New Rock Raiders game. While running it, I started
poking around the contents of the box.

There was a Lego Mania Mag offer in it, with new 2000 figs on it. First is a
new castle fig. He has the ol' silver sword, and a royal knights sheild, but
with yellow and blue coloring. The headwear is too hard to explain...anywho,
the next fig is dressed in a green suit. Snow style:) He has a big green
hood....anyway the best and most exciting of the bunch is the best female fig
you will ever see. She has a black maidens hat (!!!!!!) and get this: Her
torso is printed to that she actually has a female body, and the remaining area
around her is a sort of robe. She has a wonderul head, nice eyes with big
lashes, and curley hair running down the sides of her head...in a brownish
color. Can you believe Lego actually printed rather large breasts on a
mini-fig?:) And seeing that lego is making female figs easier to come by, and
they obviously are beginning a new thing with them (just look at her!) I bet
she'll be in a relatively small set, and I'll need to buy 15 of it:)

The man in winter gear is probably from the new arctic theme, unrelated to the
new castle sets. But the man-at-arms and the maiden figures certainly look very
promising. With the new SW sets and these, time for me to starve myself in
order to save enough money for LEGO when next year comes around.....

Cheers,

Zach

Yes, I just did...but can't put up on a webpage right away...could anybody
volunteer to take the pics and put them up? In the meantime, anybody who can't
wait e-mail me and I'll attach the pics to an email for you...

He's so cute, though! I only collect Castle sets, but I might have
to get me some of those Arctic figs for the cuteness factor alone.

This may sound like hyperbole, but I honestly think that new maiden
fig is the neast Castle minifig ever produced. The man at arms is
very nifty also. It looks like 2000, with the excellent figs and
the apparent return to the roots that made Castle great, has the
potential to be the best Castle year in ages, if not ever.

The Castle 'fig looks great. I like the new chest paint. The shield looks
like more Royal Knights.

The female 'fig is WONDERFUL. Excellent paint job on the head and torso.
And a black maiden's hat! Very cool.

And speaking of cool, that Arctic 'fig looks very promising. I hope this is
a portent of things to come!

A question for you Josh, is the helmet gray or chrome? Its kinda hard
to make it out from the scans and WE GOTTA KNOW! :^) No, really a
bunch of us over in Lugnet.castle were wondering about it.

Well, the helmet is dark gray. Sorry:) It would have been awsome, had it been
chrome. I don't know if I really like the fig, I mean, he looks cool, but I
hope he is a "special" fig, like the royal knights king, and won't be the main
sort of foot soldier for the series. I'm sure with castle there will be many
other figures, in any case.

He's clearly wearing a medeival kettle helm - circa 1300 to 1350-ish.

Probably.

If I've remembered my armour correctly.

Which I probably haven't.

I'll have to consult my history books = )
One of you who has better recall than me will most likely correct me.
But....

The soldier in the picture looks like he is garbed in standard
pikeman/infantry garb used during the later part of the middle ages,
just before the wide use of Gun powder, the Renaissance, and the
Inquisition. Typically I have seen these soldiers armed w/ long spears
for forcibly dismounting armored cavalry. My guess is there will be a
lot of these heavy infantry types. I like the style of the armor, but I
don't see how it will directly integrate w/ my other soldiers yet.

I am concerned with the continued juniorization of all themes, but
I considered fright nights a particularly egregious error. How can the
idea of a fantasy theme w/ magical overtones go so horribly wrong? I
hope there is a return to more thoughtful and detailed architecture and
features.

Yes, Thanks VERY much for this great little "sneak peek"! Hooo-Ray! {^D

Did anyone notice that the design of the helmeted soldier's armor is the
same as that of the Chess King?

And that terrific black-garbed woman-- *Swoon!!* What a sweet face! A
Druidess perhaps? (Probably way off base, but that's the impression I got at
first glance of her.)

My day is SOOO made! Thanks again for the post!

Alas, now the waiting begins, but now I have some clue as to what it IS
I'm waitng for!! Viva le' Lego Castle!! :^)

Thanks again for the groovy post,

Miles Jasem
