Announcing my first auction. This is a once, twice, sold auction
with public bidders, no reserve prices (I set the minimum bid
already, and I will sell the items at the minimum bid if that's
the only bid I receive), no buyout.

This is a small auction of some bonus packs I ran across recently.
You could say this is an auction to build my reputation as a
seller. I have done a fair amount of business with RTLers as
a buyer, but haven't sold anything yet. References on request.

1) Bids should be emailed to me at lp...@ctp.com
2) I will post updates on rtl once a week and to bidders daily.
3) Minimum bid increments are $0.50 for all items.
4) Prices DO NOT include shipping. You pay insurance too, if you
want it.
5) All items are unopened, in complete package.
6) Items will remain "open" until ~16 January 1998, and then
remain open for two days after the last bid is received,
followed by going once, going twice, and sold on consecutive
BUSINESS days. (I will count MLK day as a holiday)
7) I have listed the minimum bid in the "bid" column.
8) I reserve the right to wait for checks to clear, (but I won't
if I know you), to ask for references before allowing bids,
and to pull any or all items (but I don't intend to).
9) I expect that if you bid, you intend to buy at the bid price,
even if you get outbid, as I will go to second highest bids
if necessary to complete the auction.
10) Buyer assumes all risk of missing pieces, as these are sealed
boxes. However, if there is some problem, please advise and
I'll try to help.
11) When an item is sold, the buyer will need to send me two (2)
3x5 Cards with their shipping address (machine or neatly hand)
printed on them.
12) I'd prefer payment via a personal check, but this is not
carved in stone.
13) Persons abusing the bidding process or generally being rude
will be excluded from the bidding.
14) I will allow auto bidding if you request it, let me know
what increment you want (>= 0.50) and when to stop. Timestamps
on your email resolve ties as you might expect. Of course, the
fact that you are autobidding and what your cap amount is, is
private info and I will not reveal it to anyone else.
15) All prices are denominated in US Dollars. Foreign bidders will
need to work out payment details.
16) Feel free to email with any questions.

(I cribbed these rules from Jason Mantor and Brian Volkoff...
thanks!)

Note on all 4 items: These are new in box. Boxes are still sealed.
The boxes show deformation, as if they were under something.
However, the cardboard itself shows little or no wear except at
the corners.

Also, the URLs point to Jason Manton's web site, which in turn
points to Lou Zucaro's Pause Magazine for the images. I didn't
ask permission to do this first, but I think it will help folks.
I would like to thank both of them for making this info available.

This is the update for Tuesday 13 January. Some major changes... I have
added
a number of new items. I have refined the rules of the auction. Nothing
has

changed for the original items rulewise.

However I am, on many of the new items, introducing the Sealed Box

Surcharge... this is an extra charge that you pay on top of your winning
bid

for me not to play with the set before I send it to you. The surcharges
vary,

which indicates my relative play interest. This is intended to make the

auction fair for both builders and collectors. (well.. perhaps slanted a
bit in
favor of BUILDERS!!! :-) )

Original auction items. Closing date for start of progression is 16 Jan.

Note on all 4 items: These are new in box from a Walmart. Boxes are
still

sealed. The boxes show deformation, as if they were under something.
However, the cardboard itself shows little or no wear except at

the corners. These are Sealed Box Sets as defined in the rules, but
there is

no surcharge. Trade Credit as defined in the rules is available. Items
will

not be Pulled For Trade. No Sealed Box Surcharge applies to any of these

items. Rules for these items remain unchanged.

Loose Pieces, missing connector wire

Note on these items: These are new in box, from an upscale toystore
in Birmingham. Starting bids are mostly set at what I paid for the
items, not

including tax in the case where Sealed Box Surcharge applies. Except for
the

speed regulators, all boxes are in excellent condition overall, with
little or

no shelf wear or deformation. The owner knows his Lego(r)! All boxes
have the

store price tag with SKU number still attached. Removing that would
damage the

box.

Note on the three 4548's with their connector wire, if you are the
winning

bidder I will give you an 8 dollar discount to retain the connector
wire.
