Howdy,

I'm looking for any info regarding Lego CD-ROMs. Rumor has it that music
from my band, The Torpedoes is on a couple of Lego CD-ROM products,
however I cannot find anything in the stores. I thought our music was
going to be used on a CD ROM game called "Lego Island." I also heard we
would be included in a set, maybe a submarine. We sold four songs to TLG
so I would like to know if they used any of them.

Everyone here at rec.toys.lego seems a little Lego crazy! And that can
only be a good thing!

Currently the Lego Island CD-ROM is only available by mail order from
Lego itself (The Shop At Home or S@H you see posted about here
frequently). The submarine with the CD-ROM is not currently available in
North America (or at least the US).

I got 8299, Technic Submarine with CDROM from US S@H several months ago. S@H price was
$62.50 if I remember correctly.

Ben.

I have the cd-rom that goes with the Technic 1997 submarine. I don't recall
hearing any music on there though. (Except for the movie intro, which is
like orchestral film music).
I guess The Torpedoes were chose because of the under water band name.

Haven't seen/heard the LEGO island cd-rom yet.

Really? The latest S@H catalog I have only lists the 8250 the 'search
sub' without the CD-ROM for $49.50. Why the heck doesn't Lego put a note
in their catalogs that the alternate version is available?

Ben,

Thanks for this post...... I would not think to ask S@H about a Europe
only number.... I called this AM and they have some 8299 which as you know
is the 8250 with CD ROM...... Mine is now on the way.....

Thanks
George

I saw 8299 at Target last night. Incidentally, that Target is in the process
of expanding from a LEGO "shelf" to a whole LEGO aisle, as it does to gear
up for the holidays. So more big sets are showing up. Now all we need is
the start of the sale season...
