Any idea how to influence Mattel on future cars? As a BIG fan of the
BMW 2002, I think it would be cool if it could be included as one of the
First Editions for the year 2002.

'62 409 Impala
Dodge Charger Concept
Chevy Nomad Concept
a new Deora
'42 Dodge Power Wagon (could be done like a competition puller)
'57 Ford Ranchero
'99 (or is it '00?) Ford Excursion
.....all metal bodies and bases

Not bad ideas. I know that Mattel is slated to create the Deora II as one of
next year's 36 FE's, along with the Surf Crate, both of which were auctioned
off I believe, in 1:24 scale. They look pretty cool, and the Deora, I can
guarantee you, will be scalped more than the Ferrari FE's for next year. I
personally would love to see the 2000 Excursion put into any scale, and with
how big it is, could you imagine its weight in all-metal? I also think the
concepts might have a good chance of making it in the near future as Mattel
seems to love them.

38 Lincoln Zephyr coupe, '63 Falcon Futura Sprint convert., '67 Mustang
COUPE, Lincoln Futura show car before they built it into the Batmobile,
Stretched wheelbase '65 Mustang Funny car, '67 Cougar Funny car-
Eliminator II, Early Ford Bronco, Early Ford Econoline pickup or van,
'32 Ford Phaeton, '35 Ford roadster or sedan delivery...
Toy Cars Magazine indicates that Matchbox Collectibles is releasing the
first series of Ford Bronco in 1/43 scale- a first for this vehicle.
I'd like to add the new Pontiac GTO show car, '32 Ford Woody with hood,
Morris Minor Woody, 1932 Studebaker Dictator St. Regis Brougham (one of
the coolest designs I've ever seen... it looks like a chopped custom
from the factory), Tucker.
Also, how about the retro "The Missing Spoiler series" with numbers,
stripes, and candy paint. AMX, Charger, Corvette, 442.
Just some thoughts about cars I'd buy.

Before you buy.
Look at a 1:1 Karmann Ghia. Notice the thin, graceful pillars at the
windshield and rear glass. I think that this is the major stumbling block to
building a 1:64 scale KG.
If they were reproduced that small, they would have no strength in a zamac
casting, and if cast in with a roof/glass assembly, would be very hard to paint
or tampo properly.
Of course this is just my opinion. I have a couple of HO scale Ghias that I
keep out of direct sunlight for fear that heat will warp the plastic.

Buying Pontiac toys and NOS 1954 Pontiac parts.
Wanted 1954 Pontiac 2 door for restoration.

Check out the Triclops in the Voo Doo Highway & Ed Newton's Lowboyz sets.
It sure looks like a Tucker to me. It is heavily modified, but you can
still see the Tucker lines & styling cues in it.
I'd like to see a Brubaker's Box too. Having seen the real car as a kid, it
would be a treat to see it in scale. Next to the Meyer's Manx SR, it was
the best Volkswagen ever!
