I was there back in 1998, plenty of flame wars, and yeah, I was part of the problem. But ya live and learn.
Before the software boom went bust, I was spending a lot of spare cash on redline BPs, but I was also buying a few blue cards and prenumbers, which I still love. Actually, my impetus to even check whether or not good ole RTC is still alive is because I met a really cool dude who owns a car shop, and he's decorated all the walls with blisters from 1983 to the present. He sold 250 cars to me for a dollar each. Tons of blue cards, dozens of prenumbers, about 30 THs, just fantastic stuff. He just doesn't care about them anymore.
It's karma. I do a lot of estate sale picking, and never had any luck with HWs. Never had luck finding THs either. I'm still marveling at this pile of stuff. Couple of Spring Break S'cool Buses, albeit with one tiny tack hole on each because there were no j-hooks. Just unbelievable stuff.
While I'm at this, I'd trade for any original Topper BPs or redline BPs. Email me for a list if you're interested at all --
golfi...@yahoo.com (put "HOT WHEELS" in the subject or I'll probably miss it -- way too many emails these days.
Would love to see what the oldbies are up to.
