Well, looks like I'm done with HWC.
Cruzinrod, aka Roger has decided my presence is no longer welcome there and I'm just looking to see where all the other members banned from HWC go now.

Or maybe collecting HW's is in it's final death throws?

I know people have been saying it for years, but as I search the web for another place to call home, I've found tons of sites with little to no new content in awhile.

If there's a place for me, please let me know.

Places I've been revisiting...
Lou's Diner, Joe's Shack, HobbyTalk and a few other lesser known places

I use to be on here way back after AOL shut down those boards. I will be checking in to see who else comes back.

Oh back in the day, this forum was rocking.....remember Wheelin?

Anyway, I thought I would come over here from HWC (my GPCruisr account hasn't been booted yet) and see what was going on. Looks like maybe we can resurrect this newsgroup as a possible trading forum now that we have lost the HWC.

Another place to visit is diecastaway.com

I *may* be considered one of those old timers, and I was sure one of those involved in flame wars with Wheelin. I quit collecting HW years ago, but still have all of them. Nearly impossible to get rid of them now though, so I've held on to them. Cases and cases of LEs, FEs, THs,and series cars. All pre 2002.

I was there back in 1998, plenty of flame wars, and yeah, I was part of the problem. But ya live and learn.

Before the software boom went bust, I was spending a lot of spare cash on redline BPs, but I was also buying a few blue cards and prenumbers, which I still love. Actually, my impetus to even check whether or not good ole RTC is still alive is because I met a really cool dude who owns a car shop, and he's decorated all the walls with blisters from 1983 to the present. He sold 250 cars to me for a dollar each. Tons of blue cards, dozens of prenumbers, about 30 THs, just fantastic stuff. He just doesn't care about them anymore.

It's karma. I do a lot of estate sale picking, and never had any luck with HWs. Never had luck finding THs either. I'm still marveling at this pile of stuff. Couple of Spring Break S'cool Buses, albeit with one tiny tack hole on each because there were no j-hooks. Just unbelievable stuff.

While I'm at this, I'd trade for any original Topper BPs or redline BPs. Email me for a list if you're interested at all -- golfi...@yahoo.com (put "HOT WHEELS" in the subject or I'll probably miss it -- way too many emails these days.

Would love to see what the oldbies are up to.

Ah yes...Wheelin'...remember him well! Bought several HW's from him, years ago on Rec.Toys.Cars around 1998-99. Still have several News Group club cars.

I'm still kicking, notwithstanding skwheelin and that retarded house painter clown, hurtsell, or whatever his name was. They never did make to the coast. Sold buckets of "Wheels" last w/e on the peninsula. Still got 70 or so R/L b/p's, and a ton of limiteds, promos, etc.
