Hi,

Whatever you do - I strongly advice AGAINST using the strap bindings.

Ive been wakeboarding 3 seasons now. Last week I went on holiday - the only
board available had strap bindings so I used it. However on Landing a 360 it
snapped my front foot in half (ouch!). Everything came out on the spin except
the front part of my front foot. There was so much torque on the board that it
snapped my foot in two pulling all the joints out....

I'm now on crutches a waiting to see a surgeon...

end of wakeboard season....

No, it should read don't try a 360 with strap bindings...moron.
Strap=beginner boots=everything else. Have to limit yourself if you
don't have the equipment. Hopefully you'll ski again.

that was VERY HARSH and totally uncalled for..
its (to quote yourself) "MORONS" like you that start all the flaming
threads.
I am glad that this guy posted this warning.... maybe it will save someone
from the same pain...... who are you to judge?

I have to agree with you here. I for one am not a big wakeboarder
(still a beginner) and didn't know these kind of injuries could happen
from trying to pull big moves with strap bindings. I am sure I will learn
from others mistakes.

Thanks for the warning!

If "con" is the opposite of "pro," then what is the opposite of progress?

Thanks David,

Yes - I must be a MORON because the strap bindings warning stated :
"WARNING : WAKEBOARD CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY..."
and the boot bindings warning said :
"WARNING : WAKEBOARD CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY..."
hmmm... pop quiz... which to choose???

As I said - I was on holiday. The resort has a wakeboard specific boat, a
skylon, big wake and the water was as flat and calm as an oil spill. The only
bindings available were strap. I kept to non-radical moves (no raleys, no
inverts). I new that you come out of these more easily than on boot... but I
didn't realise that I was in danger of completely snapping a foot in half with
a basic rotation. I posted this as advice to others. Hopefully it might save
somebody else's foot. You obviously know everything there is to know about
this, but I'm sure there are others like me that don't

Yup, I agree. Three or four years ago I snapped my fibula on my back
foot using those bindings. I HOPE the high-wrap bindings are better.
I suppose I haven't had a fall that fully tested them.
