In case anyone is hunting for registration or extra
lettering for their new Malibu, the font is "Serpentine Bold
Oblique" - http://www.adobe.com/type/browser/P/P_153.html

Hey Tom,
I had a guy in St. Louis make me some boat numbers for my new Malibu. They match the Malibu name on the side of the boat. They look great. He uses a Thermal Printer and it is all on one piece of vinyl instead of over lapping vinyl. His email address is ds...@i1.net David Schweihs. His web page is http://home.i1.net/~dscs//~dscs.htm
It is a serpentine bold font, but the malibu on the side of your boat is small letters, not caps. In Missouri the numbers and letters have to be three inches tall and have to be caps.
He can also make those letters like you see on the MC's with the skier on them.

Anyone know what font Correct Craft uses?

Apparently it is Crillee. Not a guarantee, though.

Just an addendum thanks to the good folks in Goddard, KS....
the rear "OFFICIAL US OPEN TOURNAMENT BOAT" logo is Handel
Gothic from Bitstream.

Ditto for the model names except the Response puts a void in
it (to remove part of the font and give the impression of a
line through it).

Not up here. The only restriction in Canada is 3" and a readable
number. But you raise a good point. No point paying $50 bucks for
fancy fonts that are illegal in your home state.

Wouldn't this be different state to state?

Well, all the states in New England seem to have the same requirements,
copied from USCG:

New Hampshire:
The number awarded to your motorboat or registered vessel must be displayed
on both sides of the bow of the boat in such position as to provide easy
identification. The number shall read from left to right, must be in block
characters of good proportion not less than three inches in height, and must
be of a color that contrasts with the background. The numerals must be
separated from the prefix and the suffix by hyphens or equivalent spaces
such as the following example: NH 0123 AB and NH-0123-AB. Federal and State
law prohibits any other number from being displayed on either side of the
bow of your boat. The validation decal must be affixed within six inches to
the right of and in line with the assigned numbers.

Maine:
The number awarded to your motorboat or registered vessel must be displayed
on both sides of the bow of the boat in such position as to provide easy
identification. The number shall read from left to right, must be in block
characters of good proportion not less than three inches in height, and must
be of a color that contrasts with the background. The numerals must be
separated from the prefix and the suffix by hyphens or equivalent spaces
such as the following example: ME 0123 AB and ME-0123-AB. Federal and State
law prohibits any other number from being displayed on either side of the
bow of your boat.

I suspect unless it was illegible or in some bizarre script
or font nobody would care. Like some water patrol is going
to argue "Is that a sans serif font on the bow"??? <g>.

But it would be safer to check first. I did call the CG up
here today and they confirmed only 3" letters and contrast
colour as requirements. So Serpentine or Handel Gothic here
we go!

FWIW I've seen it happen in MA, to quite legible variations,
bust nuts for marking an 00## number ##.

Also seen someone nailed in NH for wrong number display, but only when the
patrol stopped them for something more significant (above no-wake speed
within 150' of shore). They probably have better things to do in the frozen
North <g>.
