I don't understand someone telling you not to walk for 6 weeks. I had ACL
reconstruction done 8 weeks ago (My right ACL was colpletely torn in half) and
cartilage repair as wella s miniscus repair. My doctor, Kirt Spindler at
Vanderbilt University Sports Medicine Clinic, had me doing therapy the morning
after surgery! I had no weight bearing on the leg for two weeks and was
walking fine, no limp in 2 1\2 weeks. At 8 weeks I have started light running,
mountain biking and pretty much anything else I feel I can do. I have 95%
mobility in the injured leg.
I don't know what kind of doctor you are seeing or the nature of your injury
but I would get a second opinion..... Atraphy can be horrific in 6 weeks.
Get well soon... Ski season'll be here before you know it!
