I haven't driven the sanger v-drive. The handling of v-drives, in general, has
more in common with direct-drive boats, than with I/O's. One of the big
differences for sanger is a true V bottom, although shallow.
They *can* be faster, and more efficient, than direct-drives. I haven't seen
this to be the case with the v-drive "ski" boat hulls, tho. Speed and gph are
pretty similar, as is the hull design, to direct drives for the Sunsetter VLX,
Maristar, and Sanger v-drives.

I have been in my v-drive boat for three years now and all I can say is its
been great. If you need a multi-purpose boat, not one for record passes in the
bouys, its your boat. The handling is definately more like a inboard than a
I/O. The MC is more I/O than other v-drives though. The Sanger interior looks
kinda spartan and I'm not crazy about the humped deck, but they make a
quality boat. Go for it.

Drives more like an inboard than an I/O but it does not turn on a dime like
most direct drives.
Good Luck and Enjoy,

Doug,
The pull is just the same V-drive or tournement inboard (assuming the weight is
similar). Wakes are definitly bigger at slow wakeboard speeds. (This is
good!!!) At slalom speeds there is not too much differance.
I'd say the V-drive skis it little harder than a tournement inboard but is far
better than any I/O I've skied behind.
As has been recommended in this news group over and over ... go try one don't
take anyones word for it , try it yourself!
