I only caught the second half of the third game and it wasn't pretty. SDSU was
running out of gas. They were trailing 12-5 when I walked in and they never got
closer than within 7 points of the Huskies. Kaitlin Leck served an ace for the
match.

Kill Leaders:
Washington: Benjamin 23, Tomasevic 11, Bjorklund 8 and McDonald 7
SDSU: Cansdale 10, Anguelova 9, McPartland 8 and Wright 5

#4 Hawai‘i d. USF 3-0
30-15, 30-20, 30-16

The Rainbow Wahine cruised to victory over the Dons of USF. By the end of the
match, USF trailed in all major categories. USF kept up with UH in blocking in
G1 and G2, but couldn't touch UH in hitting percentage or digging.

G1: UH jumped to a 2-0 start. USF made it 2-1, but fell behind for good after
that. Despite USF timeouts at 20-13 and 25-14, the gap continued to widen until
Willoughby put down game point on Jennifer Carey's serve. UH outhit USF .452 to
.050, out-dug them 22-11, out-aced them 1-0 and matched them in blocks with 2.
UH was led by Willoughby 1B/8K, Duggins 2B/5K and Kahumoku 1B/5K. USF was led
by Budinger 1B/3K.

G2: USF kept it close and briefly held 1-point leads at several points before
the Wahine ran away for good after trailing 14-15. Two natural points including
an ace by Duggins and the Wahine made it 17-15. A moment later, Villaroman
served 4 natural points to make it 22-16. At 27-20, the Wahine sided out and
scored the last two points on an ace by Willoughby and a kill by Kahumoku. UH
outhit USF .361 to .171, out-dug them 14-11, out-aced them 3-0, but was
out-blocked 1-3. UH was led by Willoughby 1B/5K, Kahumoku 5K, Duggins 1B/3K and
Tano 3K. USF was led by Budinger 5K.

G3: USF scored the first point, but never led after that. Leading 14-9, UH went
on a 6-0 scoring run on Kahumoku's serve which included an ace to make it 20-9.
UH never looked back after that. USF sided out trailing 14-29 and managed to
score a natural point on Bognar's serve to close the gap to 16-29, but a kill by
Jennifer Carey at the net ended the match on UH's third attempt. UH was led by
Willoughby 2B/7K, Kahumoku 1B/4K, Lundqvist 3B/3K and Boogard 3K. USF was led
by MacAusland and Budinger with 2K each.
