One would have expected at least some comment in this news group on the
modest performance of the renewed USA team as Olympic Champion at the
recent final of the World League in Serbia. After having won one of the
pools in the preliminary round the team was finally eliminated by two
straight defeats with 3-0 in the final round against both Serbia and
Russia. The game statistics show in particular poor performance in attack
where the USA team scores an average of 37% success kills against 51 for
Serbia and 42 for the Russians. The team has shown good performance in
blocking ( 3 suc/set) and receiving (1.6 % error) but has suffered from an
excess of direct errors in particular for the service with 19 % error
