UCLA got away with its risky gamble on tough serves. UCLA almost served G2 away
with a whopping 9 errors to 3 for Colorado. Overall, UCLA racked up 21 serving
errors to 7 for CU. If anything, CU may have been too conservative in its
serving. UCLA also made up for its serving errors with better blocking (11 to
4), digging (62 to 57) and hitting (.274 to .116). It was not pretty, but both
teams show solid potential.

Waiting for Kahumoku. Lily was solid, but probably not as dynamic as some were
expecting. Her passing was on the money (8D) and she remains deceptively quick
on her feet. Willoughby continued to dazzle the fans with 18K. Boogard made a
strong first impression in lmited minutes with 2K/1BA and 1D. Near the end of
G2 Boogard sent a spike blazing to the floor. Duggins turned in impressive
numbers (10K/.769/3B/11D) thanks to her quickness and good shot placement as
opposed to raw power.
For OSU, the best numbers were put up by Gordon 13K/.200/2B/15D. Experience
matters and this is where OSU was at a disadvantage. OSU made too many hitting
errors to stay in the match.
UH outhit OSU .287 vs. .111, out-dug them 44-38, out-aced them 3-2 and
out-blocked them something like 10-4.
