Men's Senior European Championships in Austria Sept 7th -12th (Vienna & Weiner
Neustadt).
Portugal , Greece and the Czech Republic finished ranked 3rd in qualifying
Pools on 16 points. The Portugese were on 18:18 sets, the Greeks on 21:18, and
the Czechs on 20:15. So , although winning fewer but also losing fewer sets ,
than the Greeks, the Czechs bounce into Austria (ratios CZE 1.3, GRE 1.167).
They join World Silver medallists Yugoslavia, Olympic champions Netherlands,
and France in Weiner Neustadt; Italy, Bulgaria, Russia and Austria play off in
Wein. The Yugos start with the Czechs in W.N. and Italy play the hosts in
Veinna.Both games off at 5 pm .
