I just finished a 1.5 mile swim. The problem is that it took me 48 minutes.
I don't understand why I can't pull more (or faster) on my stroke.

Do you 20 +/- minute milers take short strokes quickly or long strokes. I'm
partial to the latter. I've been told that I have a "very smooth stroke"
but I'd rather move faster than look smooth.

My under water arm angle is about 45 degrees. Would I be better off at 90
degrees...I can't do straight arm...it places too much pressure on my
shoulder.

Maybe I'm just not pulling hard enough...its that simple.

If you have some wisdom to share, please respond.

Thanks,

John

John, It's tough to give you corrections sight unseen. I recommend you go to
an organized Masters workout where a coach can help you with your stroke. It
can be money well spent.
