I have read about this happening to others but now I'm having the problem.

I go into r.s.t. and get 66 messages or so. The threads are not complete
and my own reply posts do not come under the posts to which they refer
those posts no longer exist) People are responding to stuff that I posted
but I don't see my posts.

I know there are more than 66 messages up here.

If I go to rec.bicycle.racing or alt. tara.pissing.contest etc, I get 400
posts. Just rst is decimated.

Has anyone recently had this problem and solved it?

Ray,

It sounds like your newreader isn't threading the messages properly, maybe
a configuration setting. And your ISP is not getting the complete RST feed.

Well, this is a topic that has very little to do with the group,
and more to do with your ISP. News is a distributed group, with
each message saved on a news server.

Several thing can be wrong. They may have rebooted the
news server, and it dropped all the news, they may have reset
the new server, and you have to refresh your client. Or for some
reason they may not have received the news, as ISPs purchase the
services of news distribution services, and some of them are
notoriously flakey.

good luck,

Rob
