I have a set of Zipp 650cClinchers (500) picked up this winter practially new
or new. Certainly new to me. I had been using Vittoria Open Corsa CX on my
700c. I got some Vittoria Open Corsa Triathlon 20's (the 650c comparable to the
700c). I had a heck of a time getting them mounted. Finally had to have a bike
mechanic help me get them on. Then still found that even after careful
examination that when I inflated them tire popped out. The tube wasn't seated
inside the tire. Happened 2x on different wheels. I'm very knowledgable on
changing tires etc. I'm not looking forward to changing a flat.
So I am wondering if the "profile" or the fit or the combination of Zipp &
Vittoria isn't optimal. What have other used? Has anyone else experienced this
with the Vittoria. I
Personally I don't like the Conti. In the past I've had sidewall cuts & wear.
I've used Vittoria & Vredestein with good success. I'm looking for a top
performance tire-lightweight, low rolling resistance, good tred pattern etc.
Not something for traiing.

Thanks for your input!

I have a set of Zipp 700 clinchers that I got last season. I put Conti
Grand Prix Supersonics on them (23's) Didnt have any trouble mounting them.
So far theyve performed flawlessly. No flats or problems and they seem to
be a really good tire for racing.

I've used Conti's and Vredestein tri-comp with my Zipps and haven't had
a problem. I only ride them a few times a year, though, so I don't know
how valuable that data is.
