I used to have an O'Neill surf sleeveless longjohn and it was really good
(years ago) and now I am looking at a tri sleeveless longjohn. Anyone use
one? Are they good quality? Any opinions?

Thanks,
Allen

I bought the O'Neill tri suit 5 yrs ago and have had no problems at all.I gave
my QR away because it was a piece of s--t.It had a lot of rips etc and Qr gave
me a hard time about repairing it.A few friends of mine bought the newer model
QR's this year and every one of them got torn by the second use.QR sucks and
they will not back the product.MY .02 ,buy the O'Neill.

I also have a QR fullsuit, but it is 4 years old and has served me pretty
well. It does have some holes in the
knees (my fault-surfing) but did get three tears in the back from I don't
know where. Even with the
holes though it is still effective. The new racing suits are lighter and
more maneuverable than any surf wetsuit
you can get your hands on. seeya.

Just for the record, this is an unusual report regarding QR.
Consistently, the majority of feedback one hears from QR users reflects
great satisfaction, not only with the product but particularly with the
customer service. QR has an outstanding reputation for excellent customer
service and product support. I'm not questioning this fellow's personal
experience, merely offering an alternative point of view. I have 3 QR's,
and am quite satisfied with them. My fullsuit has survived 5 seasons
without a problem. The rubber's getting a bit "tacky" now, so it may be
time to replace the sucker, but it's held up pretty well all these years.

Just another $.02.

Allen,

I have both full and long-john O'Neill tri suits.
The full suit served me well when I started Triathlon four
years ago. This year I bought the long-john and love it.
I do an average of 5 races a year. At least two of which
have swims in the Pacific Ocean. Both O'Neill suits have
held up very well and have no tears, cuts, or holes.

Take note that these suits are not as technologically advanced
as others in the market, but they cost 1/2 as much also. I'm
a rather large clydesdale, so fit is difficult for me and
the O'Neill suits have been great!

Good luck,

Scott Watters

I've got one that I love. The price was good, and it
has held up very well. The only possible negative is
that it is (for me) a neutral buoyancy suit. The
flotation from it is minimal, but it fits and performs
well.

It has a lifetime warranty, which I doubt I'll need.

My experience agrees with Tricia's. I have had a QR for 3 seasons now and
have no rips, no tears, no problems at all other than the white on the Q is
a bit brown. Never had a reason to call for service so I can't comment on
that, but I dig my QR longjohn.

I must admit that my experience with QR was in "93" and as most things go I am
sure they have improved cust service. But at this years Vineman,I was talking to
some friends of mine at the swim start and they had tears in their QR long
johns. This was 4 different guys/girls and they all bought them new this
year. This might be an isolated incident. But it still make me wonder.I am not
railing on QR,just giving my .02.

O'Neill makes tri wetsuits. They make a full and sleeveless suit. I have used
both and own the full suit. They are much more reasonably priced than most and
I have had no problems in the 2 years that I have used it. I find the suit to
be more elastic than most. I used to have a QR and also liked it but they cost
more and I outgrew it (but had no complaints).
