Nadal denied replay at 6-5 15-30 down when umpire Carlos Bernandez
gets the rules wrong after calling OUT! it was Birdman that
challenged, not Nadal. The Fedfans have really infiltrated this game!
commentator Andrew Castle said he'd never seen Nadal so angry before!

HOORAY QUITE RIGHTLY HE'S WON THE TIEBREAK!

lol

nadal stops the play, turns his back to the umpire, and challenges...nothing
that happens afterwards matters

berdman won the point fairly

no, umpire shouted OUT, it was Bird's challenge.

rafa had his back turned to the play at that point, and maybe that
influenced the ref also, so the right call was made for rafa to lose point,
as he had NULL, ZERO, ZILCH play after that

The error was from Carlos...there was just no need to overrule...Nadal had
already challenged.

Anyway....we didn't need to see Barney's little sandance.

Quite the opposite.

Nadal wrongly claimed that a ball was out.
And didn't "play" the point for good.
No problem so far, everybody does mistakes.

Then there was some misunderstanding between the umpire & Rafa.
Carlos seemed to be suggesting Nadal to challenge the "good" call (in
fact non-call of the shot), by pointing his finger to the roof.
Then, somewhat weirdly, the umpire did a mistake too: he overruled the
line judge, saying 30-15!
So Berdych challenged that overrule, well inspired since his ball was
a milimeter in!
Then Nadal went mad, wich helped him a lot in the breaker, in fact.

Maybe the umpire gave Nadal some "#1" credit, leading him to rely on
Rafa's judgement of that ball.

Really, they gave the SE award to him?
Or has it become a lock, given to any #1?

Fed won it depsite all his years of abuse, bad language, intimidation,
racket smashing etc.

You too, are some kind of a serious biased one.

Even if all of your ridiculous claims were true, (only racket abuse
stands, and -to me- it's hardly a sign of unsportmanship^) this will
only add weight to my point

Plus you're answering the least important point of my post...
Having trouble to deal with the most important part?

no, Fed had years of all the above plus dissing opponents in
interviews and still won it numerous times.

its called dissing when you are shit, and still talking shit...when you are
like god to other players, like fed is, then any diss they take as
constructive criticism...so in reality he is helping them become better

can you understand it, or do i have to type slower?

Of course (hum, maybe not that obvious for you), you realize that
sportmanship is mostly related with on court behaviour.

If you start dealing with pressers/off court words...
And why not, "off" records too?
Nadal will hardly won it again then, thanks to so many uncle Toni
interviews.
So, it's way better to just, if not only, consider the "on court
version" of any player!

On court, Federer's attitude, including racket destroying, has never
been a problem, neither a source of question to me.
Nadal on the other hand, yes.
Way tooooo long pauses, grunting & fist pumping while trashing player
ranked lower than top 30...

He was so wrong today, it's a shame.
It was like watching some unbearable kid doing some capricious frenzy.
Can you picture Stefan doing so?
GOD NO!
Rafa should have asked the umpire why on earth he had changed his
mind, giving him the point.
There was no call, so Rafa was the only one to claim it out.
As Carlos' finger first suggested Rafa HAD to challenge that "no
call".
And then, for no known reason, the umpire gave the #1 the point!
This is the very principle of avalanches!
From a tiny error (Nadal's certitude that the ball was out) it all of
a sudden became some ridiculous & childish madness...

Wich, in the end, helped a lot more Nadal than Berdych.
Berdych totally fade away after that false incident.

Fed smashed his racket once in a 12 year pro career... in 2009 against
Djoker in Miami. BFD. And that equals "bad sportsmanship?" LOL!

IIRC, Federer was more "on the nerves", younger... :-)

Even if Fed (or any other player) had smashed few rackets over the
years, I won't consider this a bad sportmanship.
Unless it goes into a circus on its own à la MacEnroe, there is no
problem with shouting at yourself, or even breaking a racket once
every while.
This is dealing with your own frustration, not showing poor/bad
sportmanship.
