Noah won this match, although it was close and I know a lot of goofing
off was going on. But does anyone think that this match speaks
volumes about what would happen if Mac played Serena? Correct me if I
am wrong (and I may be) but Noah's time was 20+ years ago, and Justine
is #1 now. Noah is not Jimmy Connors or Mac Enroe, still a solid
player though.

Slam me here if you will, but I gotta believe that if Serena or Venus
squared off with MacEnroe, Mac would probably come away an easy
winner.

since the only man who ever lost to a woman was in his 60s, that's not a
very risky prediction.

Why does a prediction need to be risky?

Not to mention he still beat the world no #2.

it doesn't need to be, but then again it's really not worthy posting.

e.g., what's the point of posting that i think henin will win her first
round AO match against some #150 qualifier?

It's good to know that you watch over us telling us when something is
worthy of posting. I'll keep it in mind for when the umpteenth
pointless Graf-Seles debate breaks out.

Yeah, BJK was so much better than Court that year...........or did Bobby
deteriorate badly in the few months between the two matches?

Riggs was 55 in 1973, fuckwit.
Not in his 60s in my book ....

I hope he did, because that is the worst quality tennis I have ever
seen televised. Has anyone who has seen that match been at all
impressed with the level of play? The absolute mediocrity of it
really makes me wonder if Riggs threw it. He couldn't have been that
nearly that bad and beat court so easily, could he? And BJK didn't
look too great either. Dink....dink...dink

More likely that Court, as has often been said, was a mental flake in her
match against him and let him psych her out. Which he was an expert at.

didn't people say Riggs was woefully underprepared for the BJK match? Too
much partying.

And yea, MSC totally lost it for her match, though she claimed later she
didn't expect Riggs shots to be as *weak* as they were,,,,,must have upset
her timing....;O)
