“He plays more flat than myself,” said Ruud. “I think that can be a challenge sometimes. I felt it today. I was not really able to play the shots that I wanted to or—what should I say—take control of the game because he keeps playing with good depth, flat shots that kind of skid off the court, which are tough to attack. I hope that I can learn how to play this way indoor.”

Said Ivanisevic, “But his serve is one of the best shots which people, they don't talk, because they have so many other things, they forget to talk about his serve. He has one of the best serves. Especially when it's tight, it's tough, especially this week he was hitting unbelievable serve under pressure.” In today’s match, Djokovic hit nine aces, no double-faults and won a whopping 69 percent of his second serve points.

Djokovic has admitted that the “emotional and mental traces” of everything that happened in Australia took him months to recover from. He won in Rome, but it probably took until Wimbledon for Djokovic to look close to his best again. In the last few months he has taken it up another level.

"It's an internal battle with myself because there's one voice that is always telling you you can't do it, you're too tired, this and that, right? The bad guy and the good guy. You try to feed the good guy so he can become louder and stronger than the bad guy. It's as simple as that," the Serb continued.

Djok's serving was incredible.

Exactly! Good Pipe and Evil Pipe struggling within. Stuff for ballads.
I'm sure the unruly Djok cubs in the stands warmed Courtsie's heart. She
just can't admit it.

I didn't see any of the ATP Finals matches except for some of the Fritz vs Djokovic SF match.

As for Djokovic, he plays possum but it's worked for him. He moves like he's about 26 still.

I learned from RST that Novak feasts on kids. A wolf will eat their young.

I looked at a vid that Pelle posted in another thread which led to this one

Novak Djokovic retired for 10 days
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdZpyhDCkhE

This must have been around the time when Novak was returning from surgery to his arm and struggling to find his game. Who knew that he would end his drought by beating Nadal at Wimbledon. Good times!
