Love Lindsay. LOVE her... but, that awful plastic surgery.... good
god! Watching "Breakfast At The Open" and she looks like a wax dummy.
Huge frozen forehead incapable of any movement whatsoever. Face shot
up with fillers. I realize she played in the sun all those years and
looks much older than 34, but this "mask" look isn't an improvement!

Believe it or not Tracy dipstick austin talked Davenport in having the
surgery injections. it was even advertised on the tennis channel with
both Tracy and Davenport in a commercial shamelessly promoting that
other women have the injections if you want to look better. so Tracy was
a really bad influence on Davenport. and Davenport was stupid to follow
what Tracy told her. i lost all respect for austin after this shameless
commercial. and Davenport should have known bettter. this shit injected
in their face is poison in the long run. people are getting cancer from
it. that damn Tracy austin! she's very close to the wta players today. i
hope she's not talking other girs into having this crap done. look how
young Davenport still is. Tracy you deserve something bad to happen to
you for this shit.

I don't have one, but maybe they will do some kind of recap show or
even a new show on Tennis Channel today due to the delayed Rafa/
Djokovic match. Try to watch if they do... it's hard to miss what I am
referring to!

Yeah its botox. which is a bacteria poison. i heard more and more
doctors patients are having serious side effects from this shit. the
women who are getting it are not thinking long term what it could do to
their over all health like breast implants. i knew 2 girls who died a
few years later after having these injections. its just insane that its
legal for doctors to use it on anybody. but because of more and more
complaints from patients fewer doctors are doing it. but it needs to be
banned. i feel sorry for all the women who are probably going to suffer
down the road after having the injections. hopefully not too many are
having it done. but girls today are exposed to things like this nonstop
on tv as a way to prevent things like wrinkles before they get into
their senior years. so im afraid many are having it done.

I agree it's nuts, the stupidity is that they look WORSE than before they have it. Plastic is plastic and incredibly obvious and off-putting to most normal men, which is whom these girls are trying to impress in the first place. It quite sad.

What about when men get botox or plastic surgery which is very common. Whom are they trying to impress?

Obviously they're trying to appear younger, more virile, more desirable. The problem with either gender getting these procedures is overdoing it. If done with good judgement and restraint, their faces/bodies will look better without screaming "surgery" to the world. But when somebody 70 tries to look 25 (like Cher for instance), it's just not going to work. And men with face lifts sometimes end up looking more feminine or like Asiatic-alien hybrids.

The results of cosmetic surgery are highly variable. I think it is OK but you have to consider the possibility that you might not like the look of your new face. There's also risk of scarring, infection or just a bad result that nobody would be happy with. Certainly everybody here has seen enough bad results on people who can afford the best, and it's particularly sad when the person starts out quite attractive and needs subsequent surgery to correct the first surgery.

It can make people look much better but sometimes it seems to completely remove the character from the face, giving the recipient a kind of generic youthful face.

I'm not convinced of the long-term effectiveness of these artificial fillers. This is worse than botox, which is just a temporary effect. I would be concerned about the breakdown of any foreign substance beneath the skin and the potential for migration of the material away from the place where it is injected.

Cosmetic surgeons are fond of these filler procedures. They are quick, cheap and easy for the practitioner, and the remuneration is great. But I'm sure they are doing a lot of follow-up and corrective work. Just like getting your hair done, this is a permanent commitment.

Truly hope these procedures turn out to be good for the customers and not just a way to extract money from people who can't stand how they look as they age.

Sure would be a lot better if we could concentrate more upon regenerating damaged parts and turning back the clock this way.

A few wrinkles seems to be of little worry to the person who has kidney, heart, or liver failure....we're going to have a lot of wrinkle-free sick people soon.

Yes, it really comes down to people wanting to maintain their youthful looks and not have to look in the mirror and see a prune staring back. It is no different than the reason many people exercise or diet. They want to look and feel better mostly for themselves. But there are just as many men as women doing cosmetic procedures these days. Iceberg made it sound like this is only something women do which is stupidity. But what do we expect from him?

I agree. Everything in moderation.

Neither is washing your hair or showering daily. Or getting your teeth fixed.

I know...cleanliness and good teeth is for poofs.

Would help of course if one could get decent water pressure from an English shower. Might as well go outside and let the rain wash the shampoo out of your hair for the time it takes you in the shower. I can piss with more pressure.

I "showered" in the first class lounge in Heathrow and wondered if they'd hired some Pakistani to pour water slowly out of a bucket in lieu of a real functioning water system.

But you guys are getting there. Some places even have A/C now and central heating. My poor old granny had an outhouse and a fireplace and that wasn't so uncommon in jolly old England.

And they used to call Canada a "colony". LOL.

I have been watching "Justified" and "True Detective" recently. The people depicted in those shows looked dirtier than anyone you might find in Western Europe. Maybe it's only East Kentucky and Lousiana, but I think most low-class Americans like you live like that. And isn't the USA called trailer park country because so many people can't even afford to live in a real house?

About 80 % of cosmetic surgery still is done by women since women are measured by looks more than men are. And not every woman can age as beautifully as Steffi Graf.

This show has had some good moments, but peaked in the second season. Some
entertaining characters (Dickie Bennett for instance) and decent acting.

I've never heard the USA called trailer park country. But it's true that many cannot afford to live in a house or apartment.

In Canada we have fairly strict zoning laws when it comes to trailer parks so you don't see nearly as many here.

Many choose to live in a trailer in the summer months just as some others live in a motor home in the summer or others still would have a simple or not so simple summer cottage.

I don't think there is anything wrong with trailer parks for people with limited means. Of course there is always the risk of these places getting very run down and being occupied by people who chew on their mattresses for breakfast and wear wife-beater shirts, soiled track pants and have missing teeth.

It may not be where you or I would choose to live but I suppose if it makes you feel good to put the boot in....

I'm surprised at how many businessmen do this to look younger and more vital. It must suck to have to do this for the sake of making sales or whatever.
