matches and everyone knows his serve routine. He is now picking at his
front pocket instead of his butt.
I had read earlier that Armani was requiring him by a certain time to
stop butt picking. Rafa was still going it at IW, Miami and MC. He
still is doing it a little bit when walking back and forth to receive
serve, but NOT when he's serving.
Watch and see for yourself. It's a big improvement over an embarassing
problem.

I hadn't read about the Armani deal but, if it existed, it must have
been an interesting negotiation. I wonder whether there's a penalty
clause that imposes a monetary sanction every time he does it after a
certain date?
Frankly, although it's been a kind of a funny thing, I've always thought
it's just the way he is, it's his butt and if he wants to touch it, it's
no big deal.

I don't know, my wife briefly watched the encore a hour ago and said
watch him, he's pulling at his shorts. I said that's my boy Rafa. She
laughed and said, watch, he does it before every 1st serve, pull at
the shorts, brush his hair on the right then the left. She doesn't
really care for him doing it but didn't say much. I said it doesn't
bother me, I'm use to him doing it. I said why do you think he does
it, she said it's a habit, probably something he started doing at a
young age like from a stressful situation.

posted this topic initially, I was watching a European feed on a
computer and the angle of the camera made me think he was fiddling
with his front pocket, not his backside. I stand corrected.

Rafa no longer picks his butt and post it. Then I see the match on a

It seems he has gotten really bad at a lot of habits. Today, he has to
place the water bottles just at th right spot, then, he has to eat a
protein pack and it looked like he was rolling up the paper just the
right way before handing it to the ball boy, then, he has to fold a
towel just the right way and place the head of his raquet on the towel
just the right way and it took him 4 or 5 times to get the raquet
right. If you get the chance to watch the encore pay close attention
to what he does and you will see what I'm posting. It really boggles
the mind why he does all this.
