I don't think so. Especially considering the final is about 19 hours
after the semi? Nadal may again benefit from a gruelling Fed/Djoker
semi it seems... Unless Djoker loses his lens again of course.

Why not consecutive doubles and singles matches instead of punishing
the 2nd semi winners?

One match starts at 2 and the other at 8. You believe it makes no
difference when playing the next day at 5?

The guys a troll. Who gives now anyhoo....Nads has had the slowest hardcourt
surface anyone has experienced...and the potential for a more rested final
appearance....again. Not a problem. 'mon the Fed!

I still fancy the upset from headcase....but I hope for the Fed/Nads final.

It shouldn't - would you have been complaining if the semifinals were
reversed? Didn't think so. Besides, Fed loses to Nadal in all kinds of
conditions and surfaces (remember Nadal beat him at the AO when he
came from a gruelling semi and had less than 48 hours rest and Fed
demolished Del P in straights and had 3 days rest). So there should be
no excuses for Fed...

Not that a faster court would have mattered - remembered Nadal won the
US Open - one of the fastest courts out there - dropping just a single
set - and that too was squeaker 7-5...

Well, first of all the AO scheduling has nothing to do with this one.
However, as you just demonstrated, that match has been continually
used to point out how much 'better' even fatigued Rafa is than Fed. So
if that was a legitimate reason to use as an argument, so is this.
Secondly, Federer is 29, 5 years older than Rafa. Meaning he needs
more time to recuperate - certainly more than a 23 year old Rafa back
then - while he actually has a day less. Because of this, I probably
would not have been complaining if the semis schedule was reversed...
I would have agreed it's unfair scheduling though.

Nadal has the tougher semi opponent, there will be much longer rallies
(and lot more retrieving) in the Nadal-Murray match than the Fed-
Djoker match. Plus, I struggle to remember a single match that Fed
lost ever because he was tired, so I doubt its going to happen this
weekend. But I agree it will be a very convenient excuse if and when
he loses the final...

Fed arguably lost last years USO because of fatigue and many matches
when recovering from mono - which had everything to do with fatigue.
However, I agree there will be no excuses for Rafa if and when he
loses the final as he's been resting for months now :-)

You can't equate mono with this situation - that's an illness compared
to mere tiredness which is what you are worried about. And Fed had
only himself to blame for his defeat to Del P last year - he was up 1
set up, 5-3 up, 30-0 on his own serve and then relaxed to let Del P in
(and it wasn't tired errors, but careless errors). So the key word
there is "arguably". And yes, Nadal will have no excuses...

Sure it makes a difference when you are 29 years old but this is the

Lol...explain how you know the difference? You're a total blabbering
fruitbat these days. At least in the old days you had some kinda subtle
modus operandi. Weird.

Because tired errors are more a function of usually being late to the
ball, feet not moving etc. Careless errors are when you have plenty of
time to get in position and miss easy strokes (see Fed dumping routine
volleys into the net). Fed has had careless errors in matches he has
been ahead all through his career, so nothing I saw in the second set
of the USO final 2009 surprised me there...

...but again, you are supporting your claims by stating opinion as fact.
Anyone could do that and argue that the moon is made of blue cheese. It's

Yeah, sure. Federer plays #3, recent USO finalist, former AO champion,
who is in good form. Nadal plays #5, who has shown time and time again
he can't win anything big, and who doesn't even himself believe he can
beat Nadal.

All I am saying is that no one can definitively say that Fed lost the
2009 US Open final because of tiredness, and the errors he made at 5-3
2nd set were very typical and nothing that hasn't happened many, many
times before, and it ultimately cost him the match (unlike a lot of
other times). The burden of proof is on those who claim Fed lost the
match because he was tired...

The burden of proof is on anyone but you it seems. Oh no, you just get to
run up to the group and go all gobby-troll-nutter and prove nuttin. Oh, not
to mention lie your ass off.

Exactly. Bring it on.

With regard to court speed, Fed has only ever advocated that there be a
broad mix of court speeds...and that in the face of slowing down across the
board. Can you imagine Nadal's outrage were they to speed everywhere up? He
already has been more than vocal in saying how unfair it is that there
aren't more clay events.....it's good for his body, don't we know!
Entitlement issues.

When I make a claim, the burden of proof will be on me. In this case, I
am not the one making a claim here. And for the record, I don't "lie" -
sure I may make minor mistakes like saying you said "no chance" instead
of a "much of a chance" (which btw, I immediately corrected within my
next few posts when you brought my attention to it). So learn to get
your facts straight...

What are you talking about? Murray has beaten both Fed and Nadal
multiple times this year - and in straight sets I may add. Djokovic has
had exactly one win, and that too after staving off match points at the
USO semi. Hardly any doubt who either Fed or Nadal would prefer to play
if given the choice...

things to say/critique/complain about when it comes to conditions/
courts/balls etc... not sure why... he wins so much... odd... ???

And still spits bullshit:
"If you talk to the specialists of tennis, everybody can say the
conditions are a little bit easier for Andy than for me here," the
nine-times Grand Slam champion said."

Ok - then Nadal must have had the tougher group to contend with...
