Federer showed his absolute best tennis today (an awesome display)
which also serves to prove a very undeniable fact that court surface
is the great equalizer at the top of the game. The best players
ability varies widely from surface to surface. When looking at all
the top players of the last 10 years, it is undeniable that Federer
has been the most consistent across all surfaces which shows again why
he is considered to be the greatest ever, his ability transcends any
one surface more than any other player in history, with Laver possibly
being the only exception, although Laver didn't play as much red clay.

According to RST heavyweights the current ATP Tour essentally has a
uni-style surfacing policy for all events... very little difference in
playability... so surface cannot be helping Federer...

Hi Icy, haven't talked for long ...

Well, Fed has been playing very well, sometimes like at his best. But
does that mean he is still peak? No. Peak is when he was playing
consistently well. For some years now, he has been inconsistent.
Sometimes playing his best but just in order to lose like a rookie in
the next moment. His losses against Djoker and Tsonga after leading 2-0
in the sets are just some of the many examples.

As of today's win against Nadal: Yes, Nadal was not at his best, but
this was pure demolition. Fed was playing like at his best. But will he
do the whole tournament? We shall see. Back in 2004-2007 I would have
said, Fed will win the tournament. But now I can only believe it when
it's done.

Nadal didn't play for how long? Damn at 25 the body should heal quite
quickly. It sad that these young guy can't finish a season. Federer
is the oldest in the draw and doesn't complain about injuries I don't
get it. Remember Federer has had a Novak like year three time and
also did two time in a row without. So im tire of these young guys
crying wolf everything they lose or more correctly there puck ass fan
crying about some fake as injury. Also it funny how these injuries
always come about when they play Federer.

The Rafatards never admit that EVERY OTHER PLAYER except Fed is
injured constantly. Rafa started the season injured at the AO and ends
it "injured." Avoiding injury is genius in itself. Fed has never
retired in a match. He doesn't have superfluous "injury timeouts,"
which Rafa calls with ridiculous regularity. How about when he claimed
he broke his foot at Wimbledon this year? What crap!

Despite what some of you think of Rafa on the court. he's a good guy off
it. right up there with Federer in my book. guy's like Andy Murray could
learn a lot from these 2 on how to behave after tough losses. and what
they do for charity every year away from tennis.

And on-court....he give himself a hard time....but his sportsmanship is
impeccable. Keep thinking they should give him the Edberg Award
sometime....but I guess the other players aren;t fond of his whingeing.
