"These days, the American dream is more apt to be realized in South America, in places such as Ecuador, Venezuela and Argentina, where incomes are actually more equal today than they are in the land of Horatio Alger. Who's the banana republic now?"

Maybe the orange clown really was the lesser evil ...

sanders is correct that the huge inequities we have is a big problem.
i'm not talking about welfare handouts, i'm talking about working
people.

clinton, bush and obama had 24yrs to improve it and didn't.

Then you go and vote for Trump who is 110% for increasing those
inequalities.

You have a lot of principles and they go cheap too.

Clinton and Trump tax policies compared before the election:

"If Donald J. Trump wins the White House and proceeds to persuade
Congress to pass his tax agenda, middle-class Americans will get a small
tax cut, wealthy Americans and businesses will get a huge tax cut, and
the budget deficit will widen substantially unless there is the type of
economic boom he promises amid lower taxes and lighter regulation.

If Hillary Clinton wins the White House and persuades Congress to pass
her agenda, wealthy Americans will pay higher taxes, businesses will
face tax rules that make it less advantageous to relocate overseas, and
the money those changes produce will go to fund the rest of her policy
agenda, from child care to roads, bridges and other infrastructure."

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/13/upshot/how-hillary-clinton-and-donald-trump-differ-on-taxes.html

Let's not even mention Trumpcare, which for Trump is merely a device for
getting bigger, permanent tax breaks for the 1%.

That's called being in denial. These are reported elsewhere.

Wage growth became disconnected from productivity...unfortunately there's no easy policy fix. Maybe trying the German model of requiring half of the members of a board of directors to be worker reps.

Workers? Self-management in Yugoslavia ? An Ambivalent Experience
By Boris Kanzleiter | 27 Oct 11 |

In the discussion of an alternative economic order the terms
?producers? democracy? and ?workers? self-management? are
inseparably bound up with the ?Yugoslav experiment?. The ?Third
Way? of Yugoslav socialism acted as an important point of
reference in the debates of the international left. When the
Yugoslav communists turned their backs on Moscow in 1948
Yugoslavia became the classic case of a socialist country
successfully breaking with ?Stalinism?. The proclamation of
?workers? self-management? drew upon the ideas of a democratic
left that went beyond the conservative social democracy of the
West and the bureaucratised ?state socialism? of the
East....
