You know fedfuckers are getting pretty damn desperate when you see
headlines like this.
Understandable though.
desperate are those who think 9 > 16
15>8
That's all that matters if we're comparing Nadal and Federer.
tis meaningless to the King and his subjects who inhabit his castle.
Most of these people Nadal has already beaten and many on clay. I hope
your not that illogical to think these 10 people will beat Nadal on
clay.
HEY GUESS WHO's on there - yes - their hero Raoninc!!! lol
Oh please! Over half of those 23 matches were played on clay. All the
h2h tells us for sure is Nadal is better than Fed on clay. Fed's
superior h2h with almost everybody else he has played for the past 7
years in the field is what matters more. Not his h2h with Nadal which
is skewed heavily in Nadal's favor due to the many matches played on
clay.
Are you that dense? The thread is WHO WILL BEAT NADAL ON CLAY.
I was responding to the post made that said 15>8 which is clearly
referring to the Nadal/Federer h2h. Do you not see that post or was it
a figment of my imagination? Oh, and I can read thanks. As for who is
going to beat Nadal on clay? Odds are slim to none that anybody is
beating Nadal on clay right now. Happy?
Oh, OK
AND Nadals INABILITY to match Fed in finals OFF clay !!!
changed readers....i see you still stink...back to the toileTT
1. Djokovic
2. Ferrer
I wouldn't bee too surprised ift they beat him.
Söderling, Murray, Del Potro maybe some others have a chance, but that
would be a bigger surprise. Federer, can't see that happening.
Part of being King... knives are all around you... you as court jester
to King Rafa will have to get used to it dearest TT...
:)
P
Ferrer tomorrow actually... if ever, one has to think...
P
Who can beat a healthy Nadal this year on clay?
I think the only two players would be Fed or Del Potro, but with huge
caveats attached to both names.
Fed could beat Rafa if he played the strategy he played in Rome in
2006: attack, attack, attack. And keep attacking whether he's passed
at will or not. He would have to serve huge down the T. and keep his
percentages in the mid-70's. Mix up everything. Drop shot Nadal and
then lob him, keep him off-balanced the entire match.
If he never allowed Nadal to get into a rhythm and never allowed a
rally more than 10 shots, he would have a shot. The weather conditions
would have to be warm, the court dry... his best chance is Madrid.
Del Potro could beat Rafa if he has improved his fitness in the past 2
months, has more confidence and plays lights out tennis. Goes for
broke on everything and again, does not allow long rallies. His FH
winners and get on top early.
Both are still longshots.
I don't think Djoker is going to beat Nadal on clay this year. I think
his streak will be snapped and his sizzling level will tail off.
Rafa will have to burn himself out a bit, as he's trying to do by
playing this 500 in Barcelona (for obvious reasons, still a calculated
risk fatigue/body maintanence wise)... might catch up with him in
Paris... likely not though... he's practicing a LOT less than he used
to... smart of he and Toni to tailor training for prevention... BUT
BARCELONA IS A CALCULATED RISK...
P
Other players that may have a chance for a clay victory over Nadal are Fed,
Murray and Del Potro. The thing with tennis is though....you often don't
know what is coming. All it takes is the right conditions to come
together.....playing conditions, player form/fitness etc. As much as people
want to believe that Nadal's name is written in clay forever and
ever....there are big tests coming his way.
GREAT POST... well said... and Rafa has passed those tests for
years... makes for an interesting clay season... The Return of The
Joker... Soderling lurking... Federer looking for another uptick at
just the right moment... Murray beginning to believe again... a young
gun sighting, per chance? Berdych rising from the dead?
These are desperate times surely? King Rafa rules with such an iron
grip!
:))
P
Ah, but iron rusts in wet clay....as we saw last year with the erosion of
Fed's iron grip over Soda! ;)
Yes... be like water! :))
You cannot easily crush water grabbing for it... Fed, Zen master and
Djokovic apprentice to master , should know this... :))
P
I Agree, also if i remember that was when federer was keeping his end
or the bargain and reach all the clay finals. At the same time Nadal
couldn't make to the final of most of the other tourney
Basically Nadal is a product of great timing with respect to era.
Federer is aging and there are no really great clay player, i mean the
second best player on clay is either federer or someone else who
hasn't won really anything major clay title
This year I think success will be measured by taking a set from Nadal
on clay.
Unless he's strategically tanking in a warmup I doubt he'll lose any
matches on clay this
year.
I think he is more likely than ever to drop a set here and there but
less likely than usual
to lose a match on clay.
The physical problems won't be a real issue until next year. That's
when you'll start to see Rafa the
mortal man on clay.
Were you 'a little' surprized to see Rafa doubled over after that long
rally against Djokovic in Miami? Was there almost a symbolic
foreshadowing in that moment?
:)
P
You mean he will be bending for Djokovic a lot in the future?
Not on clay, imo.
Yeah, fitness doesn't matter on clay....and the points are much shorter.
What?
You figure it out.
More than a little surprised. I'm not reading much into that until I
see it
happen again under conditions that aren't too hot.
