It's tough one. I'll list criteria.

1. "Olympic criteria", you know, gold, silver, bronze... in our case it's titles, finals, semis etc. Federer's got 6 and 4, Djokovic 6 and 2, so Federer 1-0 Djokovic.

2. Percentages. Federer is 59-17 (77.63%) and Djokovic is 46-17 (73.02%). So Federer 2-0 Djokovic.

3. Total match wins. Federer 3-0 Djokovic.

4. Consecutive titles, Djokovic 4 in a row, so Federer 3-1 Djokovic.

5. Defended titles, both 3. Federer 3,5-1,5 Djokovic.

6. Longer winning timespan, Djokovic so Federer 3,5-2,5 Djokovic.

Point being, Federer takes this if you go deeper into stats, but I'd say Djokovic has the edge if you merely observe honour's roll. Which is how it's usually done.

Djokovic has more consecutive titles (4 vs 2, same number of defended titles (3 vs 3) and longer winning timespan (14 years vs 8 years).

Novak did it in 3 different decades. Roger was the oldest to win it at
30, and Novak is 35. Not easy to win WTF for an older player so this is
remarkable. My guess is Djoker will try hard to win 1 more to have the
outright record and that's enough. It's not a slam, but still a big
title and when you can set the record you have to go for it. Biggest
prizemoney in tennis too, $7 million Australian $ - not bad for 1 week
