This is Larry Hodges, Editor of Table Tennis Today. The Jan/Feb issue will either be mailed on January 15, or we can hold back on it for one week to get the
ratings from the U.S. Nationals. What do you think?
(P.S. I'll post top men & women's listings from the magazine when I get in
a week or so).

Doesn't much matter to me since I didn't attend the nationals.
But when I've entered tournaments I'm always anxious for results so I
think you're better off delaying one week. BTW, I really benefitted
from the O'Neill articles on serving. Let's see more tutorials.

Larry, I think some people will be upset either way but that there will
be fewer people upset if you wait and post the latest ratings. I think it
would be better to publish TTT each month so that the tournament reports
are more current. Communications is the heart of an organization and
worth the cost. Raise my dues if necessary to cover it. I'll pay an extra
$10 year or whatever to get TTT monthly. BTW, what happened to the
articles I wrote about Coach Li's training camp in Nashville and the
pictures? And the other articles I sent about the youth? Why not make the
ratings available for online inquiry? Or at least have a number I can
call and for a small charge get my rating when I key in my USATT id
number? This could even make a profit for the USATT!
Your work is appreciated. Please consider these suggestions.

900 numbers cost thousands of dollars to set up. I'm not sure, but the
number $30,000 sticks in my mind. However, a computerized voice
bulletin board system is relatively easy. Darrin Skinner has set up
such a system for kite enthusiasts.

The system provides national rankings (there are kite competitions)
news, information about clubs and periodicals, etc.

Larry White, I received your article, but do not have room to publish every
article I receive. I only can publish about 40% of what I get. I have
;'published several article by you already, but space keeps me from
using everything.
Any suggestions about ratings should go to USATT Headquarters, 719-578-4583.
